Swap out those leaf springs.
They make a 52" and a 56" leaf for the 73-87 trucks.
You need a 52" set. while your at it install a flip kit and lose the shackles and you will be at appproxmately the same rear drop.
Leave the shackles with the flip kit and you will have a 7" rear drop,... but then you will need a notch in the frame.
I vote for just the flip kit.

You can get by cheap installing a set of "cut" front coil springs for now,... or purchase a set of Summit Racing Brand
(Ground Force brand, actually) 2" or 3" drop springs for less than $100.

yea, if the truck stays in my hands i am redoing the suspension just the way you mentioned,


and the tires are 275/60/15

where i come from, stuff like that wouldnt even go through inspection.. quoted the wrong picture too, meant to use the one for the rear hanger.

Here in MD it wouldn't pass inspection either, but considering it's over 20 years old it would be eligable for Historic tags and not subject to an inspection...but if you were to have a wreck and they saw that...

haha, yea, the springs are bad, i have all replacements parts, but again, waiting on more funds for the drop kit, i may change out the springs when i do the clip swap, as i am going to replaceall front end bushings as well
