Intersting to say the least................we drug it home to strip the PTO set up that was on it and ended up with a desire to put it on the road. The only real money we have in it are the fenders. Going for that super-tough road warrior look when we are done. Going to raise the front end a bit and add some diamond plate here and there and give her a nice back yard paint job and it it will be used in board members "OrangeCrush1970" landscaping fleet.

Well here goes!!! After letting Tater a.k.a. Maynard sit outside for another year getting that patina just right I have decided to start tinkering with him again. I put my good battery in him sunday and the 305 fired right up. We dug Maynard out his hiding spot behind a 72 shortbed frame and next to an early 60's hopefull and I drove him around the block a few times. Not at all surprised by some new noises underneath I was happy to make it back to the barn with no help...or a wallet or cell phone.
Plans this weekend are to remove the bed and start hooking that wiring harness back up. Im switching the tag and insurance over from Orange and Maynard will come home with me to get the bugs (and rats) driven out of him. I pulled out some SWEET mirrors, scuffed them up and painted them semi gloss black. They will get hung sunday for the ride home. More pics to come!

Some progress was made today by the entire Rottenwood Garage Crew!!! We got the dump bed off, worked on some brakes, added some mud flaps and put it on the road. Pending any problems its a daily driver as of today.

BTW....the complete OPERATIONAL dump bed set up except PTO is for sale for $400.

Maynard is home and doing well. As you can see we got the dump bed off a couple of weekends ago...we got some brake lights and I fabed up some sweet mudflaps for the maiden voyage to the house and it was a good ride. People were running in their houses and locking their doors when they saw (heard) me coming down the road! I have since been going through the gages, wiring and lights...all work minus the rear turn signals and I found that they are just not hooked up so should be an easy fix. My project today was replacing the cab lights and getting them hooked up with new wiring...they look awesome. 2nd and 3rd gear is a blast when the 4 bbl on the 307 opens up...I guess the 900+ lbs that we lost when we took the dump bed off really "lightened the load". Enjoy some pics!
