Some one is going to have fun with the cooler lines and fill tube. Looks like a custom hump will be in order too.

Chroming or two-tone powdercoating it?It needs some spider webs welded as gussets.I`d hate to see that bend, you know.

Tranny lines clear as is and the stock hump clears, but I will need to switch to a flexible trans dipstick. It looks like the linkage for the column shifter will still clear as well and the t-case shifter clears and can still be removed.

Also will need new exhaust to clear but I needed that anyway.

Not painted yet but all fabbing is done. Tunnel shots show how much clearance there should be.

Re: Transmission case broke....again.

While the transmission & t-case are out Im finally going to deal with the bent/twisted frame. Im adding a cross member in front of the front leaf spring shackles. I used a scissor jack & 2x4 to spread the rails 1.5" apart...close to where they should be. The bolt-in cross member isnt done yet but you can see the progress.

hey I was looking at your wheeling pics, and when you ran boggers, looked like your truck, which way did you like the front tires better? The right way or backwards?

A friend of mine lent me a set of 38" Boggers last time I went to the Moyie Mud Bog. Tried them backwards one day and normal the next day. Didnt notice any difference.

I fully expect you to beat this thing to death and then some to put that design to the test! I like the idea alot, and if it works, i just might steal it!

Re: Transmission case broke....again.

Getting closer. Trans/T-case/Cradle are installed and everything clears. Even got the stock dipstick to work...after bending the hell out of it. I bought a set of Jeep/Chevy swap headers because they looked like they would fit and they do with minor trimming. I needed the shorty style headers to clear the new crossmember and the transmission cradle. I also added a small bracket/brace that connects the trans mount to the rear two bolts of the trans pan. This straddles the area where I broke the other two transmissions.

Now just some minor buttoning up, re-install drivelines and fab up temporary exhaust to get her to the muffler shop.

Re: Transmission case broke....again.

Well, the new transmission seems fine but my "new" (used) transfer case isnt. It wont stay in 4-low. It will in reverse, but just pops out in drive. Then after "driving angry" in 4-high, I broke the front yoke on front drive shaft.

I guess its a "good" thing because I found a nasty crack in the transfer case front output shaft yoke while pulling the drive shaft.

Looks like I'll be putting my old t-case back in. That will be THREE R & R's of the t-case in 2 months.
