Re: Project 85 C10
thanks, guys, for the compliments. when i start on a project i like to have most of my parts collected, so i can roll on without interuptions. its coming together nicely, i have more pics to post, as soon as i have time. im planning on frenching some LED taillights into the rear bumper, and we have a 81-82 front bumper with the turn sinals in it. and like gcburdic says, on to the 69 burb, 69 swb, and 65 comet (all 3 of those are mine, lol)

Re: Project 85 C10
Looks nice and your new dash pad looks to be in good shape, but you know it wont fit in the 85 right?

Re: Project 85 C10
ok so here are some progress pics. work on the truck slowed down a bit because i got sick over the weekend, and im just trying to get better. we got the spots blocked, and then primered the entire truck. chad has started blocking the truck, and ive been busy with other things. got some more parts ordered that should be in tomorrow, yay!

Re: Project 85 C10
Nice progress on your truck man! I'm about 3/4 way through my 86' stepside build and have been at it steady for about 3 months now. Looking at your pics kinda looks like working on my truck. I just got the wood for the bed cut, drilled, sanded, and stained today. Good luck on your project!

Re: Project 85 C10
Wow! This is moving along great. I love the progress so far. You mentioned that your looking for a flatter sheen than the first try. From the pics, I thought you had it nailed.
Keep in mind, the flatter the sheen, the easier it gets stains on it.

The metal portion under the dash pad on 73-80s has the rear edge angled or rolled instead of a more 90* angle on the 81-87s. And I think you can put a newer pad on an older dash, but not the other way around. I could be wrong though. 73-80: 81-87: |
