Re: 1972 SWB ground up

Finally got some color on my truck, now just the cab, hood, cowl and bed to go. I guess I could have cleaned them up a little before I took the pics!!!

Re: 1972 SWB ground up

This is where I am at now. Just got the bed back from paint and dropped the cab off. I hope it doesn't take him as long to get that done. Now I just have to put the wood floor in. Will post more when it's in..

Re: 1972 SWB ground up

Awesome man! This is the exact same truck I want, except I wanting a 69, but still... In my version though I want the heater assembly and a/c left in it though. I'm wanting a rod/luxury truck. What color is your blue though I really like that..

Re: 1972 SWB ground up

It's called "wave blue" it's a mid 90's GM color. Not sure what on though. The top of the cab is going to be white.

Re: 1972 SWB ground up

Oh man...white on blue, that's gonna be B-E-A-utiful. I love that blue. Just so you know I'm gonna use that color of blue on my future restoration. That's about exactly what I wanted. I didn't want baby or sky blue, but didn't want close to navy either. That color is deep blue and has a shine to it. Great choice!

Re: 1972 SWB ground up

I've been looking for a color to repaint my truck with when I get to that point...or just repaint it the color it is....which I have the paint bucket (Dupont Chrom....) but the lettering is too hard to read.

Great looking truck! I notice you smoothed the firewall, what are your plans for heating A/C? I was also wondering about your parking brake set-up, are you going to use something custom?

I'm not going to run heat because it's a summer truck, I might put in a vintage air unit but not sure. No parking brake either.
