I use the two post lift in my shop to lift both the cab off and the bed off the different trucks that come through. I have tried everything throughout the years for backhoes to fork lifts but the two post is by far the easiest way to go. this method I can by my self take on or off a cab or bed, the very first thing I used it for was to change a Suburban body that had been rolled. Using a 4x through the windows didn't bend or dimple the doors any? I'm working on a '66 but same principal I think.

4 guys can lift gutted cab pretty easy. Myself, 17 year old son and a few of his freind...

Here's how I do it. Made up this jig to go on an egine hoist.. Easy one man operation.

Here's how I do it. I use a chain attached to the outside seat belt anchor holes and a ratchet strap attached to the lower door hinges. The ratchet strap allows you to adjust it so it is horizontal to the frame. Works great I have had the body off and on my frame many times. When I'm done working on the chassis I put the body back on so the wife can park her car in the garage.
