That is one possibility. I have the exact same issue on my "new" truck.
I haven't investigated yet, I was just wondering if anyone had this issue before.

factory: 454, ice cold ac, power windows, locksand brakes, posi, heavy duty trans, headliner, cheyenne equip., dual tanks, by the way 1/2 ton 2wd swb, upper and lower moulding, canopy has been on since day 1 along with the bed liner, and the list goes on and on and on! The spid sheet was packed full! Now my question is do i sell it? is it rare? do i slam it and put on some big wheels ( original idea ) or what please help! By the way no he would not take $900.00 for the truck! But he sure took $1000.00!
I say yes. Since you obviously paid too much for the truck I'll give you your money back and take it off your hands. I hate to see a fellow board member get in financial trouble.

Nice looking truck. I think I would just take the boards off, shell off, and drive it like that for a while. Then decide which way you want to go as far as future improvements.

Re: 67-72 fool picks up a Big 10?

I guess the bed liner is good for something as long as you have a topper on it! That is so you dont get any water underneath Bed floor has no dings or dents
just some scrapes! and the bed sits a little higher because they must have took the bed off at one time ( maybe for the canopy wiring? ) because the loom is between the bed and frame. And there is a 1/2 inch section of rust. it was behind the running board bolt it had some dirt packed in there thats it! Time for some twenties, a rear 6" flip and spindals and springs for the front! any better suggestions?

Re: 67-72 fool picks up a Big 10?

So there was rust, dirt, and wiring under the bed holding it up?
Was that after you took those recent pics? Looks like it is still a bit high?

Nice acquisition. I'll suggest a 4/6 drop, updated wheels/tires, rear disks and loose the boards.

Very funny Dave! Just because your body mounts crushed at 31 doesn't mean these are!
