Re: 1964 CewCab build
If you don't have the wheel yet, a '60 Impala wheel is a little cleaner. I put one in my '61.

Re: 1964 CewCab build
Real nice work Preacherman. I like the idea of making ones own rockers. How did you form the dished contour on the outside? over brake and then open it back up?

Thanks Dino, I already ordered it about 3 weeks ago they said it would be 6 to 8 weeks delivery so I am going to start on the drive train and chassis next week am going to pull off of the cab after I get the big window cut in
here are some new pics of the doors going on you can see the dash frame but you really wont be able to get how bad it is until it is all blinged out [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: 1964 CewCab build
Lookin killer man! I'm diggin the suicide doors on the back. So wanted to do the rear doors on my Merc crew but its so original and so nice I don't think I can. But its such a ***** to get into the back seat. I'll prolly add a third door on my chevy crew and make it suicide.
Your flying on this thing! Weld done! -Shiny

Re: 1964 CewCab build
How do you know how far to place the hinges inboard so the door doesn't hit on the door frame? I'm close to begining this mod but unsure on exactly where to place the hinges so the door opens and closes properly. I think I"ll be able to mudle through it, but looking for more info on it.

Re: 1964 CewCab build
I place the hinges in the same place the old ones where 0nly on the other side i cut the door openings then I tack the door in place on the out side then I get inside and build a bracket the meet the hinge and there you go I hope that makes sence. I cut windows to work threw on the inside of the door and then weld them back once the hing is welded in.
