Re: I bought a new truck yesterday
That's a good price on a new distributor. Looks like a nice piece. I'll buy one for my 283 I'm building. Thanks for the tip.
I'll look in a junk yard to find one for this engine. I'm not trying to sink any money in it.

I'm going to put one in my new motor...I'm so not happy with my 283...there no substitution for cubic inchs even if its just a 350

Re: I bought a new truck yesterday
I've built a ton of 350s and larger engines. I've always wanted to build a small cubic inch engine. If I don't like it, it'll be a good in between mule motor.
Like this 250, I've never had one so how do I know I don't like it?

Re: I bought a new truck yesterday
I haven't really looked at it good. I might do some work on it tomorrow and I'll figure it out then. It'll take some serious cleaning..

Re: I bought a new truck yesterday
I fired it up Sunday. I just replaced the battery terminals, jumped it off my 78 and put some gas in it. It took a while to get gas to the carb but it still wouldn't run so I poured some in the carb and it took off. The carb is all jacked up so it wouldn't stay running. I guess I'm in the market for a good carb now. Maybe I'll do the 4 barrel swap, that is if I can find the parts at a cheap price. I think I might use this engine in one of my builds now..

Re: I bought a new truck yesterday
The valve cover looks orange but the block might be blue. It's hard to tell.
I rebuilt the monojet and now it runs ok. I'm going to put an HEI in it. It just don't run as smooth as I think it should.
