Anyway, in the Netherlands gasoline is now $1,27 per litre, so that makes it $4,82 per gallon. (If my math is correct ![]() Still driving the truck daily, but only on LPG, which is $1,94 per gallon. Still a lot higher than what you guys pay... ![]() Cya, Edmond ![]()

It's $1.48 a gallon for elcheapo 87 octane here in Moore, Ok.
I figured up my mpg and i'm getting 10 per gallon if I run 60 mph on the highway. Anymore than 60 and it goes downhill fast. For instance at 70 I only get freakin 5 miles per gallon. I don't know what gears are in it but it's wound out pretty good going 70.

I am on site near Bakersfield California, and am surprised that gas is notmore expensive than it is. Last week I filled up and it was $1.37 per gallon, 87 octane, but this week it is up to $1.51.
I always heard Cal. gas was way expensive, but in this spot, it is not so bad. Of course it could be because I am in the middle of a vast oil field......... When I left Maine Jan. 15, gas was $1.52. Incidentally, if gas is a concern, switch rear gears and lose the lopey cams. I get 17-19 mpg in my 68 suburban, with a 350 4 speed and 3.08 rear gears. I think I can improve that, but it remains to be seen.......

well statistically if the gas prices increased as much as the cost of living we sould be paying around $3 so i think were fortunate for paying $1.79

$1.69 to $1.75 for the cheap stuff here in MN. Diesel is $1.89 most places, and both of those are the ethanol / soy diesel crap.
Pure Premium is $1.98 where I usually buy it.

I just filled up with 91 Octane @ 76 for $2.26 per gallon. I use the 91 cuz if I don't it pings like crazy. Needless to say I haven't been driving the Jimmy too much lately. Got a 700r4 sitting in my garage so hopefully that will get me some better mileage per tank. Dan

I work on Vashon Island in Puget Sound. I got 5 gallons of gas in my truck today on the island because I didnt have a chance to fill up this morning on the way to work before I caught the ferry. I paid $2.29 a gallon for 92 octane gas. Its the most I have ever paid in the United states for gasoline.
There was a little gas thing going on in the early 80's down in San Diego when I was in hi school. I dont remember why that was . At The Shell gas station I worked On El Camino Real in Carlsbad we charged $ 1.98 for super unleaded full service. That was 20 years ago and I think inflation would make that about $5 - $6 a gallon in now money. Two years after that in Ft Worth TX I remember buying gas at the Jet station for 47 cents a gallon . Gas pricing is a fickle thing. I'd be willing to bet after this war with Iraq foolishness is over that gas prices will be down to the $1 a gallon level by next winter ...and in time for the elections !

"The Price of Gas
You Think A Gallon Of Gas Is Expensive? Consider this; Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ......... $10.32 per gallon Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ....... $ 9.52 per gallon Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ............... $10.17 per gallon Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 .......... $10.00 per gallon Brake Fluid 12 oz $3..15 .......... $33.60 per gallon Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ............$178.13 per gallon Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .......... $123.20 per gallon Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ...................$25.42 per gallon Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ......................$84.48 per gallon and this is the REAL KICKER...... Evian water 9 oz for $1.49 ........ $21.19 per gallon. $21.19 FOR WATER! ....and the buyers don't even know the source. So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid, PEPTO BISMOL or NYQUIL!!!!" ![]()

We must be winning here in Seattle. Cheapest 87 octane is 1.75 and that is only in a few areas. Most places are 1.85 or higher. Went past the $2.00 mark on the good stuff about a week ago. And of course, I am about to get my BB 72 running!

For some reason the price seems to change by neighborhood, in Minneapolis along the river it's about $1.69 for 87octane but in Saint Paul on the other side of the same river you pay about $1.75 for 87octane.
right now the c-10 is 86 on gas. it'll have to stay that way cuz I'm POOR... on a good note though, my s-10, after "installing" a K&N filter, I get somewhere around 23-25mpg. I know I could get a little better, but have yet to put on the new exhaust. |

For regular, I paid $1.96 at Arco. The Shell station down the street is selling it for $2.19. We alwas get screwed in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I'm paying around 1.80 for super (93) octane here around Dallas. If I used the cheaper stuff the motor complains. My 74 does ok on regular but I'm so used to putting in super that it gets some as well . . . typical fill-up is 25$ to get back-n-forth to work for the week or $35 to the top (but then it leaks out because the gas cap seal doesn't work worth a sh!t).

I'm talking about the states Edmond. Are the netherlands like a lot of europe, where a lot of the price is taxes? Are the fuel taxes put to good use?A lot of our states that have fuel taxes for hi-way repair use them for other programs.

Yes I understood that Smokekiki
![]() ![]() Yes most of the price in the Netherlands is taxes. Almost 3/4 of it. And no they are not put to good use, at least not for road repairs and stuff like that. On top of the hight fuel prices we also have to pay Road Taxes. Luckely not for vehicles older that 25 years, so both the truck and the Camaro are free from that. Cya, Edmond
