Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
All I have are the headers and Cherry Bomb glasspack header mufflers. Fairly loud but only when you get on it. Very resonant in the cab.

Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
It felt good giving your business to someone who really appreciates it doesn't it ? As I get older I am, more and more, seeking out folks like that. I'm tired of Walmart mentality and just being a number.

I loved talking to the older lady who anwsered the phone. I thought she was going to hand me off to someone else but then she asks what engine I have and what size pipes I want. I was blown away at how much this lady knew. Totally awesome. I will certainly be ordering more stuff from them. Maybe a case of fuzzy dice!! Brian

Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
I'm glad somebody's still making steelpacks. I had a pair of steelpacks made by Weiand under my '68 Stepside. Just whacked onto the collector of my Clifford headers and held up in the back by baling wire. That was back when I was in college. I'd pull up at the light and the guys in the lane next to me asked if I had a big block. I'd say "yeah" because the 292 is the big block of the L6s. That set up would require readjustment after every rail crossing.
Eventually I went with a professional exhaust set up with crossover tube and turbo mufflers on that truck. I'd heard steelpacks were no longer available, at least from Weiand. Good to know about a "Mom and Pop"outfit.

Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
how long do the glasspacks last? a buddy had a set on his car, that lasted only a year, but they were a cheap set.

Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
I'm running an X-pipe with two 2 1/2" I/O, 24" body aluminized Hedmans on each side. Because they exit under the cab, the noise clears my sinuses at speed.
I was looking into a set of these Magnaflows, but now I'll check out those Brockman steelpacks.

Re: Anybody running glasspacks anymore????
I am running headers to 3"x18" glass packs to 2.5" pipe to 3" kick-outs in front of the rear wheels, and they sound great(smooth quiet but rumbling idle.. and they growl real nice when you step on it). Its just a mild 350 with a mild cam so no big deal under the hood. I wanted something drivable anyhow
