Re: anyone carry tools with them?
i carry a small tool box in every car with some basic emergency stuff, tools, etc, just like my dad. i often carry my 150pc craftsmen set with me for going junkyard shopping or when using the auto hobby shop at work. my dad has a big box full of tons of stuff for trailer towing (adapters, stuff for repairing wiring, extra hitch balls and draw bars, etc) that he throws in his 87 burb when he is planning to haul the camper, tow dolly, etc. i have a smaller "towing" that is starting to fill up. i carried it in my 89 lesabre and now it is tucked under the second row seat on my 72 burb.

Re: anyone carry tools with them?
I have an old army ammo can that I have the basics in. Enough to fix roadside emergencies, for sure. I have the same thing in my F-250 company truck. It gets used more often.

SloMotion, I just had to say that I love your truck, I think I want to make my next project something like yours. Anyways great work on the truck. And I carry Duct tape, a couple hose clamps, a few bulbs, cresent wrench, 2 screw drivers, wire strippers, socket set and an electronic lock box with a .40 S&W Springfield XD ![]() And a few old crispy french fries under the seat, after a few months you can scape just about anything with them ![]()

Re: anyone carry tools with them?
I carry a cell phone to call my son. No jack, no spare tire, no tools. It's a Chevy. We laugh at a F*** found on the side of the road dead, but we will stop and help if its a Chevy! Got to get it going before a D**** sees it.

Re: anyone carry tools with them?
I have my "go to the junkyard" selection of tools (combo set, Deep socket set with small breaker bar, screw drivers, adjustables, hammer, punches, hacksaw, ect) that I keep under the seat in an Army mechanics bag. Haven't had to use it on my truck lately, but have helped quite a few people out of tight spots in the past. BTW nice box and great looking truck

Re: anyone carry tools with them?
Sams Club has a nice Channeleock tool set with all the basics for around 70 bucks that would fill that box nicely. If you carry them you'll probably never need them but the opposite is painful,

Re: anyone carry tools with them?
since I still run a points distributor,so I carry a distributor hold down bolt tool, a set of points, a long screw driver to adjust dwell, and old small Sun dwell meter.
then the regular hand tools and the gold standard, steel tie wire. and all of that's thrown into my old Coke cooler pulled by my trusty Radio Flyer ![]()
