Thank You.

Do you have any updates on your windshield wiper mounting bracket?
I need to finish up under the dash and start wiring, but am stuck on the WW bracket,
Thanks for your input to the form, and your trucks are great!!!

Re: The 53 is a Green Machine today

The weather has been "perfect" lately which has motivated me too get out in the garage and turn some wrenches.

The next 14 days we will have triple digit temp. but like they say ....."it is a DRY heat"!!!

Here is a few updates, things have been coming together, just keep throwing $100.00 bills at it and sooner or later it will be finished!!!

Re: The 53 is a Green Machine today

Thanks for asking folks, a few updates.

The truck is finished, except for the artist that I picked to do the upholstery!!!
He has had the truck for 4 months and not much has been completed!!

I put about 2K miles and fixed a few things then took it in to get the interior finished.

The design and selection of parts work great, and I really like the 4L60E and the 3:25 gear and the ZZ-4 has enough HP to make everything work.

The Dodge suspension is a lot more stable feeling than the Mll I have in the 55 GMC.

Apples and Apples, both have R & P steering and both have Bilstine shocks, but the spring rate on the 53 feels a lot more stable. The 53 also has a wider rear spring from a Jeep or a van I don't remember where it came from but I like it!

The 55 will be going in for some upgrades as soon as the 53 is returned.
I am looking at a 92 TPI from a 350 Vette and using a FAST computer and wiring with the 24# injectors,..... any comments?

Re: The 53 is a Green Machine today

Nice truck!!!

If it was me, I would skip the TPI and go LT1 or LSx motor.
The TPI is very limited, to get any more power out of it you need a (larger) ported TPI base, siamesed runners, all which add up to more $$ (why did you buy it in the first place?)

The LT1 has reversed cooled heads that can have higher compression ratios, larger/shorter runners to provide power to 5500rpm, and have factory cast header manifolds. Complete running cars can be had for less than $700

LSx motors. Really consider them. A 5.3 thru Parts For Less is under $500 total investment can reach $2k easily, examine your budget...

Re: The 53 is a Green Machine today

If you're looking for an opinion, go with the 5.3. The TPI is pre-1985 technology, and everything about the 5.3 or LS motor will be better than the TPI.

And the 53 is a great looking truck, I love the color!

Re: The 53 is a Green Machine today

The TPI will choke the power out of the ZZ4, even lose power over 4500rpm. Better go with the Holley stealth ram, or Weiand as they have it listed here.

and you need fuel rails:
