Re: Old school 67-72 shortbeds
I love your truck Nick! That looks awesome!
here's mine. Sorry I dont have any better pics yet! 15x7 Corvette style 6-lug Rallys with Bullet caps and Bullet lugs, 225/75/15 skinny WW tires - cant decide if they need some hot rod trim rings yet, gotta see the truck outside the garage first... |

Re: Old school 67-72 shortbeds
I've always been a "run 'er till she blows" guy. This was when the stock clutch let go and 2 days before the 12" Centerforce went it. 15 Corvette ralleys. I like this pic because it shows just how skinny the tires are on the back!
Looks "old school" to me right down to the hilborn scoop! |

Re: Old school 67-72 shortbeds
SG,
If you click on my title you can check out my album and the specs are at the top... it's a little tricky as I have disc brakes, aftermarket upper A-arms to correct castor etc.. and I wouldn't want to steer you wrong. That being said, I have 255/60 & 275/60/15s; 8in front & 10in rear with 4in backspace on all (narrow rear end). No problems with clearances and I think it rides better than stock. |

I have a question, You are saying that the "white" bed is the "blue" bed painted to have the patina look? How did you do that? What kind of white paint did you use? The reason I ask is because I would like to replace the fenders on my white truck and not repaint the entire truck.................Flat67 Last edited by Flat 67; 03-28-2010 at 08:36 PM. |

Re: Old school 67-72 shortbeds
I used Walmart house brand flat white spray paint.
After it dried, I used one of these... some of this... and one of these... Scrub through the white paint in areas where you'd expect the paint to be worn, ie the top of body lines and edges. After that I even scuffed it up with a piece of chain and my boot soles. It matched pretty well when finished. You just have to stop and back away every so often to check progress from a distance to make it match the rest of the truck.

Thanks Tx,
Now I'll go ahead and replace my sad fenders knowing I don't have to paint the whole truck.............Flat67 Last edited by Flat 67; 03-28-2010 at 10:43 PM. |

Re: Old school 67-72 shortbeds
Here's my old school/beater/rat/shop truck - with and without the door logo. I just have a sweet spot for old white steelies and hub caps! The wheels are 15 X 8 on the rear and 15 X 6's on the front with 275/60R15's out back and 215/75R15's up front.
