The custom sheet metal work that guy did on the side of your truck really sucks; I especially hate how he relocated the rear axle. He probably doesn't have insurance but if you have comprehensive it includes uninsured motorists coverage. Best of all, since insurance companies hate to pay out they will likely file against the guy who hit you ( even here in Tucson driving without insurance gets your license pulled).

Re: Can I squeeze 1 3\8 hose over a 1 1\2 tube?

Right before the wreck I found a 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 at oreilly then took the 1 1/2 side and streached it to 2".

so i just gotta find 4-6" of 1 3/8" fuel hose to connect adaptor to fuel neck, then find some 1 1/2" hose to go up to the s10 fuel filler..

HE HAS INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get a rental car and everything lol and they pay for my tow bill etc

adjuster is supposed to come out tomorow maybe...whats the next step guys?

Re: Can I squeeze 1 3\8 hose over a 1 1\2 tube?

well think of it this way. now you have a side panal to practice putting in a filler door. (bad joke I know) you see the pic and you say "ow!"
youre doing the same thing I am., trying to fit a 1 3/8 fuel hose over a 1 1/2 neck. I got the hose at o reillies. (they undercharged me. gave the the whole four foot section for 11.99!!)
I have a heat gun like for paint stripping and I was going to use that to stretch over the filler neck. I hope it works!

Re: Can I squeeze 1 3\8 hose over a 1 1\2 tube?

I had a similar issue with my 73 motorhome. I asked to go behind the counter and look at the pre-form radiator hose rack and found exactly what I needed there. No idea what it was for but it has worked fine for my fuel filler tube.

Re: Can I squeeze 1 3\8 hose over a 1 1\2 tube?

use 1 1/2 hose and clamp it down to 1 3/8 with a good band clamp. i did that on mine and it worked fine. if you have to have 1 3/8 industrial rubber and gasket in nashville keeps it in stock.

Re: Can I squeeze 1 3\8 hose over a 1 1\2 tube?

there are specialty shops that carry all kinds of hose. look in the phone book. around here it is called "house of hose", and whatever you get must be rated for fuel. you would be amazed at the needs of farming, trucks, industrial millatary etc and that these places have these odd sizes.
