Re: El Chingon
got the wheels for the project, wheel vintique 17x8 for the front, 17x9 for the rear. thinking about 255 50 17 front, 275 50 17 rear for the tires. hope it has enough side wall and does not look goofy.

Re: El Chingon
What kind of centercaps are you going to run on the ralleys?? I have a set of ralleys for my truck also but I am thinking of changing the center caps.

Re: El Chingon
going to run smooth trim rings with the derby style cap, it is all on order and waiting for it to come in. the real caps are expensive and so are the rings. i could have bought a set of billet wheels for what i am going to have in these things. it will look nice and old school. that is kinda how i am, and wish the world would sometimes be.

Re: El Chingon
well i removed the energy suspension bushings and threw them as far as i could, pressed in the moog replacement bushings in the lower arms. my lower arms must have been a little tweeked, hence i had to use a porta power to straighten them. once i had the bushings pressed i had to trim the hell out of them to get them over the dropmember. once that was done i had to trim the inner sleeves supplied with the dropmember. now everything is dialed in it seems to a pretty good system. i coated the inner sleeves with never seeze just in case i want to take it back apart down the road. if you buy the porter built a arms i bet it is just a slide together system, with mine mixing new with old it took some tweeking, i hate tweeking freshly painted parts. nate was a big help with my questions and answered them quickly, A+ for nate and quality customer service once again. pics of the work so far:

Thing is covered in fingerprints, every time i touch the damn thing it makes me mad. i am using all the suspension stuff of of the truck i hung up on the manhole. It should be a nice daily driver when done. |

Re: El Chingon
thanks guys, it is hard enough trying to one build, two is really hurting my wallet. the dually is close enough now where i am going to just drive it for a year. going to dump all my cash into the c-10 now. should come together rather quickly now.
looking for a 5.3 GenIII motor with a 4l60e that is drive by wire. you would think in houston that would be easy. not! |

Re: El Chingon
all the rear brackets came from clint over at kp components including the shock brackets, the front stuff all came from nathan at porterbuilt street rods. i suggest to everyone that looks at this to give nathan a call before doing any kind of suspension mod. if he dont have it, he will make it.

Re: El Chingon
finally got some wheels on in and cycled the suspension, had to loose the drop spindles and go with stock spindles to achieve more lift in the front. i am only running a 26" tall tire in the front. back almost lays out, need to drill some holes in the rear shock mounts so i can adjust them. man i just realized how dirty this frame is. need to get out the quick detailer and rub her down.
