maybe because mine is only a 3 inch dropped axle, but i didnt have to move my brake lines.

dave, did your mono leafs give you a true 3 inches of additional drop ?
how much travel do you have between the axle and frame ?
would you happen to have a pic of that area ?

Yes they gave at least 3" but there is very little travel and the axle slams into the frame on medium+ bumps in the road. My monos might be kind of tired and desprung because I got them used. I am going to put a notch in the frame at some point.

I will take a picture of the spring to frame clearance when it stops raining .

You need to move the brake line if you run a 4" drop axle and mono leafs together. With a 3" axle and monos you might not need to but if you ever add the monos I would check to make sure

I don't have any pictures of the shims installed. I don't think my truck is a good example anyway. When I got my used mono leafs they had a 4 deg. cast shim with them but I believe Sid recommends 6 deg. so I just added the stock shim to the 4 deg. shim to get as close as I could to 6. Kind of hokey but it was like night and day how much better it drives with the added 4 deg. over when it only had the stock shims. If you are going to add caster shims check with Sid and see what he recommends and you can order the correct shim.

The steering arm has no problem hitting the leaf as long as you have the steering arm flipped and you have the caster shims

Sid taper reamed the steering arms for modern tie rod ends, and reversed the taper so the tie rod now mounts from the bottom, to clear the leafs. the tie rod now runs under the leafs.

A buddy of mine who builds lots of trucks wound up with the monos on trade, he also hooked my up with my drop axle 6 years ago. I have a very very small budget so it has taken me 9 years to get to where I am on my truck. It is frustrating as hell to have to wait for the parts to show up at the right price but they always do if you hold out.

Here is my 51..... I just got the 4" drop axle from Sid installed, removed three leafs from stock worn out springs, rear is 3" lowering blocks. Still need to adjust steering box as this truck wanders all over the road, but its still a blast to drive!! Tires are 205/15's in the front....
