Re: My first truck
lilmis71 Looks very good. I was the same way with my dad i remember his black '68 and have always wanted one myself and when i had mad money a couple of years ago i got one close to it. My dad had me in the garage working on race cars from the time i was 2 weeks old. I grew up as a garage rat...lol. You might think this is corny but enjoy this time with him ALL you can cause you'll miss it later on in life trust me. And the knowledge he gives you about cars will make the boys jealous!!! lol.

Re: My first truck
I myself dont get the whole slam look. It is one thing if it has hydralics(sp), but just to have it lowered? You might as well have a car. Plus, i dont like how lowered trucks ride. But hey thats me. I do like 'em raked though. And what color(s) you like? play around with more than one. Mines black and im seriously thinking of painting the interior red and using orange and yellow and blue like for the dash pad and arm rests. Kinda like the inside is one big flame...i dont know it sounds good in my head...lol or so the voices tell me....

thanks everyone im really liking all the suport. and just a lilttle bit about me i used to be a city girl and now i live in the country. before i moved out here i never touched anything dirty. i hardly ever went outside and now im getting out side and working on my truck. an evern bigger step to becomeing not girly is next year i am takeing a wealding class because the boys said that girls cant take wealding. so thats why i like the suport you all are giving me. somepeople dont believe i can do it.

Re: My first truck
Shooooot welding isnt hard. Just dont be afraid of it, respect it yes, afraid no. I think the key to it is finding a rhythm, not to slow not to fast, to slow will either put a hole in the object or slag up on you quick (depending on what kind of welding) and going to fast doesnt make for a good strong weld. I let the guys talk me out of taking automotive class when i was in high school only to for them to tell me thanks for not taking cause id made them look bad cause i knew more going in then they did...lol. I sure wish id had taking it now. So, take that small engine repair class if you can, you get to work on lawn mowers i think the first year and go from there. Its all worth it if just in not needing to pay for repairs later. THEN whos the smart one.
