Re: should i trade?
Those 454 SS trucks aren't rare. They aren't that fast stock either. I would keep your first vehicle, since it is cool, a C-10, and not a cookie cutter car like an '99 Toyota Corolla.
You could always save your money and buy one later on. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Re: should i trade?
I'd have a hard time NOT taking the trade. Regardless of power numbers, the 454ss was a cool and somewhat rare truck, and was one of the first trucks to get the muscle truck phase going in the 90's. It has it's own historical signifigance, whereas a regualr C10 has none...no offense to anyone (including myself). Keep the 454ss looking stock, but lower it, put some money on performance parts, and shut up all the guys who say and think the trucks were dogs. They must be forgetiing the trade truck in question was (and maybe still is) a dog in factory form as well, even more so that the 454ss.

Re: should i trade?
Nope, pretty sure I am right...in 91 they improved the ss trucks horsepower and added the 4 speed automotic...I can't find my old magazines to back it up, but I am sure I recall a mag doing a test on a 90 ss454 and a 90 sport with a 5.7 and the 350 truck was quicker.
If I was offered this trade, I would do it because the 90 truck would resale for more $, it is somewhat rare (around 13,000 units in 90, like 17,000 total units from 90 to 93. It is not hard to replace the 84 if you find yourself long for it back.
