Mine has 255/70/15 BFG Radial TAs on 8 inch Rally wheels and is lowered 2.5/4. I also have pics of it with just the front lowered, just the front lifted, and stock in my gallery.

Very Clean!. I like it!.... question.. was checkin out the pics you have.. and the 350 you put in.. looks to be a G.M. Goodwrench block. I have the same.. .. My dad got it brand-new.. had the engine put-in.. but it has this real light clacking noise.. almost like lifters.. adjusted those. and still the noise.. sounds deep... did you have any problems with yours like this?

Thanks!

I have talked to several people with these trucks who had a knocking sound, and it turned out to be a cracked flexplate. That is what I would check first.

It is a Goodwrench 350. Part #10067353. I don't have any problems like that with this one, but I did with the original 305 and with another 305 I had in a car.

The one in the car made a knocking sound that turned out to be the thing that blocks off the exhaust to help it warm up faster. Is it called the heat riser? Well, whatever it was called would get a pulsating vacuum signal under load for some reason and would open and close like it was possessed! Even a mechanic friend could not figure that one out. We ended up disconnecting and plugging the vacuum line.

When my 305 did it the first time, it was a bent flexplate. It would slap the snout of the starter for a couple of minutes when it was first started until it knocked it out of the way. That would make the sound go away until the next time I started it. Luckily a friend had seen one do that before, or I would never have figured it out!

The second time the 305 made a similar sound, it was because the engine was worn out. It was really a knock, and the engine was on its way out.

Good luck with yours. I hope it is something minor.

Just got a book from them... well in a few days anyway, along with a sport bumper and brackets/lic pocket etc. I definatly don't have 600 kickin around. And the unfortunate part is no junk yard around my parts has any...

Very interesting you should mention the flex-plate... I notice the noise right around that area too...when i crawled under to investigate it... also.. the guy who put the motor in.. failed to put back the cover that protected the plate. and the starter... can't remember the technical term for it... My dad thought it was wrist-pin slop... I was thinking if i got the cover it might help the noise. I had to disconnect the heat-riser too.. was making some strange noises down there. Oh well... thanks a lot for the info.. it makes total sense..., other than that.. it runs real strong.

I know this is pretty old post, but, do you have any rubbing issues running a 275/60 up front?

Cooper ST Maxx 31x10.50x15 all around. I was told I could probably fit 32's but didn't want to take the chance since I had to order them. Love the tires....quiet on the road, look good, and wear, so far, has been great.
