Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Thank you very much Joe!!! I really did not plan on trying so hard to straighten everything, but when I got started on it I decided to give it the best I can and if it isn't perfect then at least I can say I tried.

Thank you guys for the support!!

P.S.... I already decided the next phase will be 4 linking the rear and maybe the front, then possibly put twin turbos on it. If I decide to do that I will place the turbos in the fenders basically behind the headlights then plumbing the exhaust back in toward the frame and firewall, BUT that's a long ways away!

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Went shopping today at LMC! For once I have a project that I can get parts locally! Got all new weatherstripping and window seals for the entire truck, new windshields, new rear sliding window, glove box, splash panels between running boards and bed, S.S. locking gas cap and some other things. Bodywork is almost completed on everything except the hood, cab and chassis!

Do you still plan on hauling a gooseneck with it when you're done? That would officially be the coolest hauler I've ever seen!

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Sorry I have no updates. I lost my job and started a new one so I had to fix up a car to drive since my old job supplied me a vehicle. I am almost done with sanding the hood, then I'll get the chassis and cab blasted. Hope to be back on it in 2-3 weeks.

As for the gooseneck.. yes I plan on leaving it in!!

Thanks for looking guys!

Yes I did. I miss it, but I bought a 1995 fwd auto turbo talon that I'm planning on daily driving and running low 10's. There are more race classes for the front wheel drives and yet the mitsu/eagle is the only in the class with auto trans!

alright, well it sounds like he has alot of trucks, so if you have and can get rid of or if he has and wants to get rid of a whole set of hubcabs 3/4 4x4, id appreciate it if you could find out, they go for ridiculous prices online.

I definately will lyk if he wants to get rid of any caps.

UPDATE!

Got a edelbrock rpm intake, MSD billet HEI distributor, Holley 850 carb and a Holley elec fuel pump tonight for $350! They only have around 600 miles on them!!!

Also got the hood ready to wet sand and do a final expoy sealer coat. I'm scheduled to get the chassis/cab blasted this weekend or next depending on his sand shipment.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Finally got a furnace in the shop and got the ball rolling again. I am suppose to paint the bed, fenders and hood in a few weeks and today I got the cab completely stripped and ready to be sand blasted hopefully this week pending weather. Not going as fast as I originally planned but rather take a step back and keep doing things the right way.

Finished stripping the cab Sunday then dropped the truck off to have the cab and chassis sand blasted. Got a call today and it was done. They did areally good job and since the body sits high they were able to blast the underside of the cab really good.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Got the epoxy primer on the cab to protect it from rusting while doing the bodywork and got the "Chassis Saver" epoxy coating on the chassis last night. Also, got a call and the upholstery shop already got the seat done so I took a road trip last night and picked it up. Heading to LMC tonight to get a few patch panels to weld inside the cab. I will try to post a few pics tonight.
