Ok. I know it might be a sore subject, but you have to explain how you dropped the engine.

Re: Let me know how im doing ?

I borrowed an older engine hoist one where the eye bolt runs up from the bottom with a nut on the top. I didn't check to see if that was tight. I should have just didn't think of it. AND pop two inches away from the frame and our feet. It stripped out the nut !

Well if that isn't a kick in the pants! I hate it when I do things like that.

Re: Let me know how im doing ?

OH you know !! - Only bent the crank, I have a good customer of mine that helped me out. Took it to his machine shop and his face said it all. The dial moved time degrees. So new pan, pump, oil pump drive shaft, Crankshaft, harmonic balancer, and new gaskets. Then for fun we dyno-ed the Little 307. Just to set the timing and make sure I didnt wreck anything else. It made 183, Should have made 200 but I used felpro permatorque head gaskets which he thought were a bit to thick and thats were i was losing my compression. I don't feel the need to tear in to in for the third time some i'm leaving it as is. Im not building a street machine.

How do you like the KBS paint? I read somewhere that it can start setting up in the can after it gets opened, so I'm scared to start mine until every single part is prepped and ready for paint. Kind of a pain since I have some cross members and a-arms ready to go back on before I pull my cab.

Re: Let me know how im doing ?

I learned that lesson real fast with the first can. What I did was use two screws and drilled them in the top of the can. Never opening the can. One to poor out of and one as as a vent. Didn't have much of a problem after that. I think it worked better sprayed on then brushed on.

Re: Let me know how im doing ?

Finally got the frame rolled out of the barn after a long nap in the barn over winter. I am glad to say i finally put the motor in just last night. This time it went as planned, no problems.

I'll post pictures some time soon.

Re: Let me know how im doing ?

Wait a minute am I supposed to remove all the grease before painting?! Just kidding Your'e doing EXCELLENT! One of my friends dropped a motor also, his was a caster wheel broke and tilted down and that was enough to turn the whole engine hoist over. ouch! Is there a build thread for this truck or just this thread? I like this truck a lot!
