Re: 60`s and 70`s era modded trucks
Some of my "before" pics show a little of the 70s vibe (ignore the primer )
The white top and strip over the wheel well (including the pinstripes) was done, by my estimation, some time in the '70s to spruce up what must have been a pretty basic six-banger pickup.

Re: 60`s and 70`s era modded trucks
In the 70's half of all pickups sold were sold in Texas. They were the original hotrod when I was coming up and cheap to come buy. I wish they had stayed "our" li'l secret and the rest of the country had stayed hooked on Monte Carlos, Camaros and Good Time vans.
Don't buy it when you hear they weren't being customized way back when. I think I took the cutting torch to my '68's springs back in 1980...long before lowering kits were found in every magazine. Who knew the supply of almost pristine bodied trucks with worn out motors sitting out in pastures was ever gonna dry up? Anybody remember back window louvers? Pioneer super tuners with Tancredi "power boosters" that'd make your ears bleed. I had hood locks on mine to protect all my chrome goodies from my redneck buddies. And my sway bars were the envy of more than one buddy. I believe there were about 9 or 10 of us in my neighborhood who all drove variations of the same lowered, hot-rodded, and often primered C-10's. Big blocks ruled the day, but most of us were mousers due to cost. |

Re: 60`s and 70`s era modded trucks
Here's a picture of my 70's era resto. Ansen slots, Smash-Hit brushguard, Hickey Sidewinder winch, rear window sliders, and GE amber fog lights. Non-70's improvements include Dana 60/14 bolt axles, rear disc brakes, and Gear Vendors overdrive.

Re: 60`s and 70`s era modded trucks
60's-70's these trucks were to busy earning their keep......
