Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
Good amount of progress. Good clean clip install also. What headers did you use if you recall?

Blue57, the blue one is our demo unit and the other is my old truck and a customer’s BBQ.
Wheelie I use some flowtech headers from a 1981 Camaro that I got ceramic coated. |

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
I’ve been slow on my updates, I got the gas tank built and installed. I made it from 1/8 alum and it’s about 25 U.S gals.

nice simple and functional hydroboost mount too i like the jig you made for locating the radiator supports. a lot of builder fail on locating those, nice work

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
I got a new rad a few weeks ago from eBay and it looks good. I got a Taurus fan from PnP and trimmed the factory shroud off. I then made a 1/8 alum ring to fit the fan. Next I built a shroud to fit the rad. I then tacked the ring to the shroud. I did a test fit and with a few adjustments I was happy

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
HiRMKin, In post 32 I know that you were showing how you formed part of your radiator shroud, but all I could see was the brake. Used one like that years ago. Now I see how that fuel tank got formed up. Very nice work on the tank and shroud. I miss those big tools. Keep the pictures coming.

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
Man would wood not believe how much I hate that colour. My wife tries to man up the colour and calls it pomegranate punch.
I started something I’ve been avoiding for a years, the front windshield brow. Frist off I measured anything to do with the window opening that I thought would be of any use to me. Then I started out by making a few different shape angles from 20ga cold roll. I borrowed a shirker and a stretcher to get the shape right. I fitted two angles together to make the outside piece. |

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
That Pepto-pink is almost as bad as my dad's old 55 150 wagon. It was an original Coral Pink car that had been bleached/faded by the sun and elements- turned it into a truly noxious shade of puce!
Nice job on the patch- can't wait to see how things progress |

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
nice fab work on windshield frame, handy having all that equipment at your disposal
as i remember my mom had a pink 57 ford wagon at one time i always wondered what caused the top of a windshield frame to rust out

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
Thanks guys. Above the window was full of that cotton crap. I clamped my new pieces to the original piece that was still on the truck to get the shape right then tacked the angles together. I cut out the old piece welded in the new piece and it all measured out perfectly.

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
I got lucky and got the inside roof piece for 100 bucks, which I cut and use for the front portion. It didn’t fit that great but hammer and dolly I got it to fit not bad. It’s all in and I’m pretty happy with the results. While I was there I fitted up the outside visor.

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
very nice
that cotton crap was your original seat made into a mouse nest mouse poop is very corrosive funny how easy a mouse can get up there vs how difficult it is to fish a single wire up there

Re: Great White North 59 Fleetside Build
I think that cotton is put in from the factory I didn't have any mice crap up there. If you look at Tyler58 post 99 he has the same cotton as I did.
