Hauling 4x8 sheets in a LWB is easy, not so in anything else but a long horn. I like the LWB best~!

Alright Dion...this is the second time today that I will put my pink slip where my mouth is...I will be happy to trade my short stepside for your long fleetside. I have seen your truck and it is a beauty! I think the long fleetsides look really cool tubbed and slammed too! The short fleets look out of proportion in the same configuration. I have on of both and love them both. Even the long stepsides look really great in 4X4 config with a little air under them. They are all great...just depends what you like.
BTW...the offer to trade still stands! I could not believe you were ever condsiderig selling that truck...what happened...momentary insanity...LOL!

I myself have always prefered a longbed.......I can't count the number of times I've been somewhere to pick something up with my shorty and wished the previous owner would have left it long. I recently bought a longbed 2 wheel drive and I already love it........also they ride better than a shorty.

I don't know about you guys, but it's kinda hard to have fun with the girls in a 6 foot box, ya need the extra 2 feet for leg and head room. LONGBED all the way!!

I like my longbed, but I definitely drool over short-fleets too. I'm not much of a stepside fan though.
Who's in for starting a longbed club?

Don't care if it's lwb or swb as long as it's a STEPSIDE.

Blazerman: Have a 68 Longbed step and I love it. It even has the driverside mounted spare tire... Well it has the mount anyway! I have not bought tires or rims for it yet.

I like all of the trucks and I have a long bed and short stepside. If I could only have one I would go with the long bed because of the comfortable ride and the ability to haul a lot of stuff.
Also, you can't do this with a stepside! Jim |

Okay yeah, so I had a few beers last night. I really just wanted to say is that I love shortys and steps but long beds are cool too.
Smitty and his brother have short beds and I drool all over them every time I see them. Hearing my truck called just a worthless work truck really hurt, I've put a lot of love into her. Thanks for listening to me vent, hope I didn't offend anyone. |

Oh Nooooo you Didn't
Smokekiki, I'm new to the board too, but at least I know not to post the "f" word on here. Not only that, but you even capitalized it!!
As for LWB/SWB: My daily driver (mopar), I had to special order it with an 8 foot bed, since I have the extra cab and 4x4. I wouldn,t own anything other than long bed for work truck. As for my play truck, it just ended up a shorty by chance, but I liked the way it looked. I also knew that 30 some years ago, very few shorty 4x4 were made. |

Your excused! Hey Rob, nothing at all wrong with your long bed stepside, nor your lwb fleet Dion, They are 67-72 chevy trucks thats all that matters, although I don't have a lwb truck beside the burb right now. But who knows I bet I will before long! Randy

Long Bed
I wouldn't own a long bed, because I can't get it in my garage. Now if my wife would park hers outside, wait, I'll go ask her.

well the way I see it it depends on what youre doing with it. somethings shortbeds look better as and somethings longbeds look better as. it doesnt make either one bad because you cant use it for something that the other looks better as. theyre all good.

A guy walked up to me at a cruise in one night, and told me that I had just made a liar out of him. He said he had recently sold his 72 cheyenne longbed, because he didn't think you could make one look good. His wife pointed mine out to him, and told him he had lied to her. They looked it over for about an hour. Just goe's to show , Different strokes for different folks. I like them ALL just look at my sig.

This may sound funny, but I would rather have a long stepside on my GMC. Before I got it, I didn't even know that they made long step sides. I just like the step and the way they look. But my truck is my first truck, so I will leave it like it is. I'll just keep an eye out for a long step 4x4

I have one of each, a short bed and a long bed. I have had more offers for my long bed than the short bed, and everybody seems to think that I'll just give my short bed away for nothing (boy are they wrong). I'm not too keen on 22's or neon paint either.....
