Re: Belated Build thread!!!
i got a couple of things done this weekend. the glass people put the glass back into the truck so it was time for the doors to go together and back on the truck. Put all new felts, fuzzys and channels in the doors which was a pain in th butt. so i figured that the door alignment would be just as hard.....couldnt believe it, they both lined up great on th first go around.

Re: Belated Build thread!!!
Well i did some work on the 68 this past friday night. I got a vortec setup from the board here and took it to the machine shop and had the heads gone thru. So my cam is
Duration Advertised 288° Intake/288° Exhaust Duration @ .050'' 214° Intake/214° Exhaust Lift @ Valve .442'' Intake/.442'' Exhaust Lift @ Cam .295'' Intake/.295'' Exhaust Lobe Separation Angle 112° Intake Centerline 107° Intake Timing @ .050" Open 0° ATDC Close 34° ABDC Exhaust Timing @ .050" Open 44° BBDC Close 10° BTDC with a double roller timing chain, vortec heads 906s, GMPP aluminum intake (same as a performer RPM i think) and Crane Aluminum roller rockers. and a Road Demon 725 double pumper just bc it was in the garage does this set up sound like it should run pretty well? im running a 3.73 posi out back too.

Re: Belated Build thread!!!
Sweet looking truck.. you mentioned you thought it was super solid but were mistaken... tbh with you, that WAS a pretty solid truck in comparison to many I have worked on. Normally I have to put floor pans and complete rockers/cab corners in them and work my way up from there. That was a nice truck to start your project with.
24 years ago, I rebuilt a harley in the living room/kitchen.. wife hasnt allowed parts of any type in the house since then.. had to build a shop |

Re: Belated Build thread!!!
yeah i was really blessed to be left the truck in the shape that it was in! not as much work as most go through but it was way over my skill level when i started!

Re: Belated Build thread!!!
Its been a while since i have posted any progress because of going back to college! the Freezing cold and snow hasnt really helped any either. I did get the truck back on its "feet" and got all the brakes hooked up thanks to Flashed who sent me manual master cyl! well i backed it out to see how it stopped and it stopped grrrreat! but then my buddy matt started waving me down sayin "dude theres something wrong with your wheels" and they are way out of alignment! looks like a trip to the alignment shop!
