Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
I will add a few more. The first one is the only speedwarning i have seen in a 69. I know it was available, but haven't seen one before in 69. This truck is still around. (barely)
Second 2, i don't know if they are still "alive" Not sure what option "O" is...

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
So far it looks like big block trucks and suburbans were fairly well optioned. The average truck so far has about 18 options on its SPID. The vehicle that has the most options so far is a 3/4 ton Chevy longbed with 25. The vehicle with the fewest options so far is also a 3/4 ton Chevy longbed with 12 options.
So far there are some options that seem to be on most of the SPIDS given so far. There are quite a few SPIDS that have some very unique options. I will give some stats on certain options next time I update. Also I am noticing that there are different options codes for the engines within the same year. Does anyone know why there is a difference in the codes? 1969: 4L47AA 4L47AB 1972: 1L4710 1L4720 Also does anyone know why some trucks use 3 digit codes while others use 6 digit codes?

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
Have a 1972 1/2Ton Suburban. OEM was 402, 366 now but have a 72 402 from a GMC C20 in the wings to put it back to OEM. Plan to restore. Will be DRIVER by summer 2011. I'll see if I can get the VIN from the GMC donor as it will get crushed at some point.

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
BTW, thanks for doing this. It's going to be very interesting to see how some of these numbers shake out.

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
I wanted to point out that so far every 72' BB truck in the registry has: Front Stabilizer, Power Steering, and all but one has Turbo Hydramatic trans. Lets see what else we can find by adding more SPIDS!

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
I'm sorry I havent added more spids yet, I will be able to on my next vacation in december. This is an informative post. I believe I still have the spid from our old 69 longhorn and it only had like 8 options.

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
Thanks for the additions everyone.
Can anyone tell me how to put this link into my signature? That way everytime I post it will show the link to this thread. I figured that might help since threads get buried so quickly in the 67-72 section.

Re: Starting a Registry for BB trucks!
Go to your signature area. There is a little globe with a chain link. Click it and copy/paste the thread url into the little box that shows up. If you want to rename the link, change the text after the quotation marks to something like Big Block 67-72 Registry. I just tried it and it worked, so if you run into a snag, pm me and I will help you.
