thanks for all the compliments... I need to take the rest of the black paint off and take some better pics of the truck...
I dont think of it as a build becasue its a daily driver... So far its just been collecting parts and trying to keep up with maintenance... the rear is making more noise so I see the rear swap in the near future... but that means i need to figure out the brakes too... |

So I picked up a Dana 60 the other weekend. I ground off all the brackets the PO had on there. I took pics with the phone but cant get them to upload... I will need to make new shock mounts as the originals are gone. I also need a new tie rod assembly...

Are you still going to use a Tahoe third row seat in the back? If so, how do you plan on bolting it to the floor?
One other question, I was planning on using the same seats you had originally planned on used (Tahoe leather fronts) but seeing that you backed makes me nervous. Did you research wiring them or did you not feel like messing with it? |

Supposedly the 2000 - 2002 seats were "stand alone" and only needed a power and ground to operate. The heated seat option needed to controls that were located on the door panels, which would have been an added expense and hasle.... I chose cloth seats because its easier to sit on after being out in the sun with no top... and I'll just add after market seat heaters for winter... |

Nice blazer...I really like your ideas & upgrades.
Those Hummer wheels look good painted. I've heard of doing that, but never actually seen a pic of what it looked like till you posted those. I may have to be on the lookout myself for a set for some summer/street tires. Be sure to post pics when you do the console, I was thinking of doing something similar in mine. Haven't done much to the truck itself... been working on the brake upgrade for the D60 I plan on running... HERE
I'll end up with 14" rotors that slip on the hub (rather then press on from the back) and dual psiton aluminum calipers... I also got a CaptainFab brake bracket to mount the HydroBoost from the 2005 GMC 2500HD.... I should be able to stop on a DIME and give 11cents change.... |

Haven't done much latley. Just put the hard top back on last week. I ordered a heated seat insert off eBay and it arrived today. I need to pull the top and bootm seat covers off and run some wiring...
Slowly been working on my front D60 brake upgrade. Had to order a 3/4" plate to use a jig to finish wleding the brackets. I had the calipers powder coated and rebuilt one so far.... I am saving for a North West Fab crossover steering kit.... of course that means a new 2WD steering... and I just bought a new RedHead box not too long ago.... When I got my D60 it didnt have a tie rod but it did have a lift spacer on the pitman arm. Not ideal but I could keep my new 4wd steering box, so I just thought I would run it like that and had a new tie rod built. After that is when I decided I should just go with crossover... if the tie rod is the right length for high steer I'll upgrade later....

The black paint was a wierd rattle can job. it was thick in parts, like a bed liner, so who knows. I started sanding it off (along with some of the clear) and then I tried some leftover acetone I had... the paint just lifted off without affecting the factory paint... But I only gat half way done with the truck...
I also gave up on the H3 mirrors... I decided to sell them and just go the F@$D route... |
