Screw the gov. if they want to stop the carbon footprint and bring emissions down lets convert to Methanol or ethanol switch our older vehicles over to it! I read alot on the conversion of E-85 and am seeing some pretty nasty and fast HORSE POWER results!!!!!! Lots of horsepower running a renewable resource!

The funny thing is, do you ever hear the Government or the EPA busting the hobbiest avaitions' balls or aviation in general? Heck, they're closer to the atmosphere than we are and less regulated.

Re: Check this out!!!!

The more attention I pay to issues like this, the more confused I get. Watch how they change how they talk about the problem, Example: I took an HVAC/R tech class, and found that the problem the EPA has with refrigerant is, the chlorine in it getting released into the atmosphere. How about all those private, public, and amusement park swimming pools, that use chlorine. Often times you can just walk up to a pool and smell the chlorine. I wonder how much of that is releasing into the atmosphere. And the grading system for the refrigerant went from ODP (ozone depletion potential) to GWP (global warming potential). Why the change, and when was the last time we heard of ozone depletion???? So to sum it up, here's the climate issues we've had in my 32 years on this Earth in order: another ice age, ozone depletion, el nino, global warming, and to make sure they were never wrong, I introduce you to
Climate change!!!!!

Cept here in Ohio we've always had climate change, in the beginning they called it "seasonal change", winter, spring, summer, and fall. Whoa now my head hurts

4wheel & off-road has an 8 page spread, "LobbyFor Our Hobby". And we must.

IBTL

I think the upcoming issue of Hot Rod Mag is devoted to this subject too.

Hot Rodders adapt. There will always be new laws, and people who are much smarter than me will continue to engineer new stuff that's faster/cleaner/more durable etc in order to stay legal. LS engines are a perfect example.

WHAT? noise is noise... when you have your window rolled down and a open pipe Harley passes you and thinks its cool that your ears are ringing, if he has the balls to pull over after I flip him off; its on brother.
I don't give a sh#%, your not going to f up my day with your noise pollution!!

Fair is fair, if the law says open pipe Harley's are legal then so should open header 572 Chevy's.........now that would be sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW Any Harley owners on this website are excluded in the above topic ....as a classic truck enthusiast i will put up with your bike's noise if you own a classic truck too....everyone else though ......buy a freakin muffler!!!
Exactly i simply hate the fact that there loud to the point you have to stop talking when there around to wait for them to pass, if your bike is loud then dont rev it up so high in town that it hurts peoples hears an they have to stop what their doing until you pass, it ant cool its annoying. When they fly buy and its so loud everybody looks at you its not because your cool its because its annoying an your being loud. And dont do that "loud pipes save lifes" thing because when im driving and a bike like that is next to me im seriously considering making a quick lane change lol. Of course present classic truck enthusiast excluded in this.

I agree with the noise! Here in Hilo Hawaii it is Harley heaven! Love the bikes the riders are a great bunch of guys but Like stated if you have to stop what you are doing till they pass...
Our state has a safety inspection, and when I took my 72 in and he said that because I changed the muffler system away from the stock version he by law could not pass the vehicle!!! I became enraged at him and he backed up quite a bit he saw RED in my eyes, I told him to KMA!!! what about the friggen HARLEYS??? that go by my condo and rev the motors??? How in the hell did they get passed??? He told me to calm down but he has to state the law to me so if I get pulled over for loud mufflers he is in the clear.
He said that if they came back to him that he would say that I changed the mufflers after the inspection.
I will never give up my non computer non electronic non onstar equipped good ole USA built CHEVY TRUCK till they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Marty you sound exactly like me....if they can make well over 100 db on a Harley and never get a ticket. Then let me do the same in my ride then I won't complain. When I can fly by a open pipe Harley in a open header 572 Chev motor and scare the sh%# out of them, then its all fair.

I used to be a total ass to cops every time i got pulled over (only when I didn't do anything wrong of course) until I ran into a rookie looking to earn his promotion. And he wrote me up a bullsh#& ticket ....so then I insulted him cause it just felt right at the time .......off to jail. Now im always polite................... at first..................then Im a bit more careful before i say anything thats going to ruin the rest of my day...............LOL..................

The same thing here! A rookie cop sees my reverse lights on and they were purple blue tint, they were stuck on now, on my way to the TRANSMISSION SHOP, with my wife following me, cuts my wife off and pulls me over and says with the chip on the shoulder attitude you know why I pulled you over? Smart assed I said NO! He says what is up with the blue lights? I thought he was talking about the BLUE DOTS! So he tries to write me up for everything he could, didnt even bring up the illegal blue dots! but wanted to write me up for my fuzzy dice??? and no seat belt because he is so stupid that he didnt realize that the older trucks only had lap belts!!! So I busted him down to the blue lights that were on, I didnt know that the reverse lights were stuck on! My wife tells me this when we get to the trans shop, that the reverse lights are on. The dumb a$$ didnt even know the difference between a reverse light and a tail light! I have my day in court on the 19th of oct. I am going full bore on the rookie, Had the trans shop sign the repairs that the light switch needed adjusting, rant rant
Damn rookie cop trying to make a big showing to his superiors.
Sorry for the rant I am still pissed

Re: Check this out!!!!

I for one would be glad to add cats to my muscle car/ classic car or truck.
Even add O2 sensors and EFI if need be. Take awhile to afford it but I'd do it if I had to. But thats not the point the point is people want a scapegoat.
We have our work cut out for us. Best read up on this subject.
Can't say much more. Hope we can stay as non political as possible here for the sake of how important this topic is.

Ive ran into my fair share of "Super Troopers", one cop wouldnt even shake my hand when i was ''trying'' to be nice and started laying into me for no reason other than he had somthing up his ass(and i was considering going to jail for putting my foot up there to lol he was getting ridicoulus)and was looking for a reason to arrest me but had no right to, and my father realised before i started getting to mouthy with him that thats what he wanted and my father told me i needed to get the hell out of there because i wouldnt of gone without a good fightlol, specially when i was never in the wrong it was the other person and this young stupid cop already had his mine set on taking me to jail. Had a chip on my shoulders for a while because of that but i have also ran into good cops that dont let that shinny metal badge get to them and are really there to help.

??? Are you kidding? What about Meigs Field in Chicago? Should I go on? The list is long.
