Light Green 503
Dark Green 505 Dark Aqua 511 1968 (Same Colors) Prod made: 16,755 Offered in 1969 (Same Colors) Prod made: 29,942 Turquoise 511 (new shade of green offered) 1970 (Same Colors) Prod made: 49,717 Dark Olive 506 (new shade of green offered) Medium Blue Green 529 (new shade of green offered) 1971 (Same Colors) Prod made: 72,609 Dark Blue Green 512 (new shade of green offered) Medium Green 518 (new shade of green offered) 1972 (All New Colors) Prod Made: 142,645 Willow Green 504 (new shade of green offered) Spruce Green 506 (new shade of green offered) Meadow Green 518 (new shade of green offered) Without knowing the exact year and paint code, the rarity cannot be calculated. As you can see, 67-68 CST's are rare, 69-72 are much more common so the paint scheme may be more plentiful. Last edited by ajolson; 10-30-2010 at 09:20 PM. |

Re: CST question
I assume that's 12,588 long beds.I don't have that book.That would be the highest number of CSTs in a given year.There would be even less short Fleetside,long & short Stepsides,C/20 Fleetside & Stepsides,C/30 Stepside & cab'n'chassis 133" & 157",K/10 short & longbed Fleetside & Stepsides,and K/20 Fleetside & Stepsides.
As said,no records on how many of which paint.

Re: CST question
No, the total CST's made in 1967: 12,588
I can approximate how many of the options were CST's: C10's & Packages CE 10704 Stepside: 45,606 CE 10734 Fleetside: 43,940 CE 10904 Stepside: 19,969 CE 10934 Fleetside pickup: 165,973 C20's & Packages: CE20904 Stepside: 7,859 CE20934 Fleetside pickup: 50,413 If I knew the exact model, code, and year, I can give an approximate percentage for the truck. I've found another resource on paint. For instance, in 1967, the CST option was only offered on the Fleetside Trucks, this eliminates all stepsides reducing the percentage of posibilities making a 1967 CST even more rare. 4.8% of trucks made in 1967 had the CST option. I may not be able to get an exact number, but will get close and you can take these real numbers to the auction block if you have the codes. |

Re: CST question
My GM papers says nothing about that. Says cab/chassis and pickup only.

Re: CST question
I don't have any papers or books on it but sure have seen Stepsides and cab'n'chassis '67 CSTs.One of the first CSTs I saw was a '67 tow truck at Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring,MD when it was new.I've seen frame mount RV '67 CSTs as well as Stepsides.
We had people debate that Cheyenne Supers weren't made in Stepsides...until a member showed his example. Not sure if books say anything about that.

Re: CST question
The only reliable source would be GM, all others have extracted information and don't guarantee the information. Red Book does cite it's resource as Chevrolet Motor Division. They also have a disclaimer for no liability if the information is incorrect.
I have the origional 1968 Chevrolet Truck Chassis Service Manual C-10 - C60 and 1968 Chevrolet Truck Chassis Overhaul Manual C10-C60. Though these do not provide statistics on quantity produced, I can verify codes. All trucks could be modified after leaving the factory. Last edited by ajolson; 11-01-2010 at 12:45 PM. |

Re: CST question
If someone had a dealer's ordering book it would lay out what could and couldn't be had with what option, etc.I have a '71 dealer book and would be in heaven to have all six years .There are some stats (post production) that just weren't kept.

Re: CST question
I have the copies of the dealers ordering books for all 6 years (it's ok to hate me Tim). The thing that blows, there's even things in those books that are inacurate. They say you couldn't get a 3.07 rear gear with posi. This has been proven many times with photos of SPID labels. However, that is what I generally go by, that and some info from here and there and a few other sources. I tend to give vintage GM info more attention than stuff written 30+ years later.
