Re: Cup holder

Maybe if you get the cupholder thing that goes in the ashtray, it has 2 cup holders so you could hold your drink and it would also hold a cup type ashtray. so you could have both. passengers are screwed, but arent they always?

Best of both worlds. I sure like the one I have. You could use an ash tray like this to fit into either of the holes. Some even have an LED built into it

Re: Cup holder

Maybe I'll go that route, although ideally i'd have one for the passenger too, but I guess they don't need both hands, so they can hold their own beer.

I still like the idea of a floor console if I can make one fit.

I meant coffee.

Re: Cup holder

Hey, that's nice. It'd cover my 4x4 stick though. Maybe some kind of lift up hatch thing to get to it? I dunno. Still haven't figured anything out. It's been cold and miserable outside and I haven't wanted to spend any more time out there than I had to.

Re: Cup holder

I built this cup holder from an old drive shaft, and some flat stock I had laying around. On my 90 it's a friction fit between the floor and the bottom of the seat, it fits my 84 GMC as well.

Re: Cup holder

Here's my solution. Killed two birds in one shot. Cup holders and speaker enclosure. Believe its a IronHorse console ? Screwed it to the floor

I had almost that exact console in my seat for awhile, but it always ended up in the floor anyways as I often had more than 1 passenger. I also plum wore the arm rest off that thing.

Joe - how's this one, as far as bouncing - and - does it feel like it wants to bend the ashtray door too far down?

Swings freely to prevent spills and is easily detachable. This way you won't spill your beer.

The insert fits nice and snug in the opening. No bouncing at all, even when nothing is in it. Had it about a year now and there seems to be no issues with the added weight on the ash tray lid, which is usually 2 large Sonic drinks. And compact enough to slide it out and put behind the seat if not needed or a long legged middle passenger is seated. Makes cruising a whole lot nicer.

Thank you. I'll probably go that way.

I assume this is the one available in the various catalogs?
