Re: Project Picacho
Man oh man.... Seems like I can't break out of the "two weeks" mold. When it was just me welding up the parts, I did my best. Now even with my guys, we are so busy that it's tough to get it out the door any quicker. I could always higher more help, but it takes a lot to find the "right guy". I will never sacrifice quality just to be able to say "a week-and-a half"! LOL

Thanks Keith, I put the call into Nate last week and pulled the trigger on the front arms! I was looking at Hazel the other nite - she is soooo my inspiration for this build! What is your thoughts on brakes???? I was all into the Wilwoods (D-52's), but with NO e-brake & a 3 -on-tree I would prefer it! Anyway - I am looking at the McGaughy's 13" and the CPP 13". I have been told the McGaughy's will work with the Boss 338's that I am going to run, but I am not sure about the CPP set up. Maybe I will put a call into CPPJEFF. I like the look of those RED calipers looking through the rims, so we'll see Quote:
The more I look at my calendar - I am not to sure about making the timeline to get it done for Goodguys - so don't sweat it on my end - thanks Ronnie

Re: Project Picacho
Project looks good. I have the McGaughy's 13" Front Brake Kit on my truck and love the way it looks. I have some pictures on my build thread. Don't know how it performs yet cause my truck is currently just a frame on jackstands lol. You won't be sorry if you choose the McGaughy's kit. I know there is a guy on here with a Blazer that has the front and rear kits with the Boss wheels with no fitment issues. I'll be running Coys on mine, just waiting for them to ship.

Re: Project Picacho
Yeah you could always have the calipers powdercoated red. I just painted my calipers black with duplicolor caliper paint. I probably should have had them powdercoated but oh well.

Re: Project Picacho
Well I was able to get a few things done on the truck this afternoon:
In anticipation of the Porterbuilt Stage 2E set up - started working on the rear end today. That's another cool thing about Nate's stuff - you can go to his site and follow the directions before you even have the stuff - Fresh meat! Air Chisel makes things a lot easier! Not sure how I am going to get this thing out of here!

Re: Project Picacho
I also started getting the rear set up for the disc brakes - even though I haven't decide which ones I am going with - leaning towards the Mcgaughy's Big Brake kit - but will figure it out this week I guess. Either way - I tore into the 71-72 rear end - as well this afternoon too!
I will be cleaning up the training arms and putting new bushings in too.

Re: Project Picacho
All original Cali car - 289/Auto, with Fact AC - so the motor will be staying in it. I have actually been reading and most people love the 289? We'll see the motor needs to be rebuilt and I am trying to give Picacho all my attention!
