Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks

Dad's best friend has a chassis shop up there, we drag race, I'll probably have to take our Pro Mod GTO up there to finish it.

How much is one of them small flat rate boxes?

I know steel wheels will fit.On 71/72s,in other words trucks with disc brakes, the calipers need a little grinding along the casting seem.

I've collected the wheels that were made when these trucks were newer, including 8.25 & 9.75 steel OEM centers, aluminum slots, and finned aluminum. There were many styles of finned aluminum, also known as turbines,Hurricanes,Vectors...If you keep an eye out they come around and usually for reasonable money. To me,period correct wheels look best on a vehicle.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks

Sorry I have not been back here in the last few days...work is burying me! My slots are 9.75 x 16.5.

Code:
Stllookn, i like those mags! you got specs?
I have two (2) 8-lug 15" slots like that as well. They will clear the drum brakes but I don't think they will clear the discs. I checked a while back...perhaps they clear the older discs too. I was looking for another set of two of those wheels to complete the set.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks

Dennis, I almost bought a set of those "new" for my old F**d van in the 90's. I have seen a couple of used sets of those at Monroe. Are you looking?
