DeWalt cordless tools were made in the USA up until just recently. I think it was last week that I heard they were moving production out of the US. Because of this I will not be buying it again when my 18v set wears out.

I love my Bosch 24 volt. Paid $145 for it at a flea market last year. It weighs a ton with that big battery but it's awesome!

I believe the two best corded drills are:
Milwaukie Magnum w/ 1/2" chuck, I use these often at work.
Porter Cable w/ 1/2" keyless chuck(this SOB has an ALL metal chuck), I bought one for my dad, he loves it and beats it to death all the time. That drill is a powerhouse and the chuck stays tight.
Personally, I love my 18v 1/2" all metal chuck DeWalt.

i am like you guys i like good tools. the best. but please listen to this story.

i am the chief maintenance man at a hud complex. hud contracted to have siding put on all the apartments. i was talking to the guys one day and i noticed an ugly black cordless drill he was using to drive 3in screws. i asked who made that thing. he said "craftsman", i asked it looks like its held up well. he said 2 yrs. and we have been through dewalts, bosch, milwaukee, makita. he said the batteries are the first to go on the others, or the motor burns out. he said the "craftsman" drill just keeps going. he has to be telling the truth cause i couldnt tell who made the drill it was so beat up, but when i picked it up, it ran like a champ through all modes.

that was an eye opener for me. and i have an 18v dewalt, and the batterie went out last year. i am looking at an craftsman 18v now and it has over 500in lbs of torque. the best dewalt or anybody else has is around 400. go figure

Im with Sub-versive, both of those are great tools and manufacturers! I have a few cordless drills and nothing beats an old plugin, I dont think I would spend the money again on a battery.
