Re: NorCal Cruiser
Don’t know how difficult this will be to fix. I put some light up in the door post and the clip that holds this piece looks to be rotted away.
Any ideas on how to repair this?? |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
A lot of the fire wall was taken down to bare metal. A little Rustolium spray bomb to hold me over.

Re: NorCal Cruiser
found your build on page 12....what is up!!!!! if you will be driving the beast by september, you better get busy.
For any who follow this thread, Rich916 is my brother. I have a 94 chevy swb that I am modding into one low ride. 8/6 is the plan, static suspension. I'm just wondering who will finish first. We are supposed to meet up in September and compare progress. If bro doesn't get hopping he will have nothing to compare with. Soooo GET MOVING BRO!!! Glenn |

Nothing like a little competition between brothers to get things kick-started. My time line for completion may have been a little optimistic. Who can relate to that? Your 100% gong-ho pouring over catalogs, accumulating parts, spending most of your down time to your project and then BAM!...life interrupts it...(Wife, Kids, Work) My problem seems to be time management. I agree, time to get back on this project. Im being “called out” by my LITTLE brother. Thanks for the wake-up call! |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
Howdy!
I am rather new here to. I have a little down time from the ol' 'Honey do List' and thought I would browse around and viola! I just want to say you have a really nice truck and sounds like you plans are great. I wanted to say that life happens and if you do not get it done in your projected time frame don't sweat it too bad, OK? Just remember life happens and the economy is in line at the toilet . You have a good plan and a FINE project truck (go Craigslist!), so hang in there like a hair in a bisquit and keep the faith. As it was said back in the day "It's your world man" Good luck friend, and lets keep these beauties in our hearts and on the roads. God Bless, Airborne70gmc out here |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
OK, so I am getting this project back on track! I’m dismantled down to a roller. First thing!! Get this thing cleaned up. Brought out my rig, cranked up some heat and cleaned up 40 years of grease & grim…came out pretty good.

Re: NorCal Cruiser
40 year old trucks aren’t necessarily “lazer straight” but mine had some issues I wanted to take care of before we went any further.
Loaded up the beast and off to Clark Frame and Alignment in Roseville. Should have it back by the end of the week |

Got the truck back from the frame shop. Very happy with the work they did.
The repair order: Measure Frame-laser Align center section Pull front and rear for sway and height. |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
Ordered up some front suspension parts from Napa.
I got upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod adjusting clamps and idler arm assembly. I didn’t get the control arm shafts (yet). Just pulled them out, disassembled and cleaned them up-they look good to me. Got everything cleaned up and started install. |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
Ordered my hard lines from Inline Tube. I ordered a complete brake line set, fuel pump to carb line, vacuum to carb and fuel tank to pump line. I didn’t order any tank "vent" lines-those seemed to be in good condition.
Yep, bought from inline, I guess that makes me a “professional Restore” |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
I forgot to order a clip set. Let my old ones soak in some degreaser-cleaned them up nicely. Well I saved $30.00 and I think this works for a daily driver.
I did get some new hard ware though |

Re: NorCal Cruiser
Front set installed. Very nice set and minimum bending to make them fit.
I went with OE, If I were to do it again I might have went with stainless steal. |
