Re: To bag or not to bag?

It looks good the way it is. (besides the keeping the wife happy should be a priority)
(of course the reason I'm now a chevy owner is because my wife bought a 85 for 500 cash rebuilt the carb herself and told me to fix the rest of it!)

sounds like you have a very understanding wife!! And yes, a happy wife is a happy life..... but you still gotta enjoy the things you like too, right? My obsession with vehicles is a hell of a lot cheaper than a lifetime of say, smoking, drinking, drugs, etc... The way I see it, the wifey should be proud I'm spending my money on something constructive!! lol

As far as $$ investment goes, I do not plan on "cheaping out". My real long term plan is to build a whole new box frame (the one I have is twisted), drop a 6.2L gas engine (or Duramax diesel), do the whole bag thing right and clean, then when it's done, just drop my body on top. Then I can enjoy building something, and enjoy driving my truck at the same time! It's going to eventually happen, its just a matter of taking advantage of a deal before I get started.

Sounds like a plan! good luck.
Right now I just hope I have the money to get it out of the transmission shop! much less do any body work.
And true, trucks are a good safe addiction. lol, I forget where but someone said that they liked the pics on this site because truck porn doesn't get him in trouble...

The air compressor would constantly blow fuses, it was extremely loud and obnoxious, every single bag at one point or another ended up with a hole in it. You know where a bagged truck with bad bags can go? You guessed it, no where. Well, I guess you can try, but do it at your own discretion. For what it's worth, if you're gonna show it and not use it as a daily driver, bag it for show maybe. To use it as a daily or common driver, do not put yourself through the misery and avoid another money bucket. If you want to tell me that you have a bagged truck and its not a money bucket and yours works just dandy. Fine, I'm just giving you my two cents.
Sounds like a bad install job... I had a bagged and bodied truck as daily for 4 years with not one air issue in the 4 years. I drove 56 miles to and from work everyday. Install it correctly and you shouldn't have any issues. Good day
