Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
I installed the alternator, painted the power steering pump pulley and brackets, and installed the power steering pump, and spark plug wires. I also installed the fuel pump lines and filter. I'm just mocking everything right now, making sure everything will go on just right. Here's my build thread...

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Glad to see you got the Suburban, Jeff. Looks like it will be a pretty sweet project, with plenty of room.
I didn't get much done truckwise, but I did wash the truck and the Mustang Saturday. I traded in our two newer cars for a slightly used Navigator for Mama Saturday Morning. It was a great deal with a slight scrape going down the whole left side, and out car payments dropped quite a bit. Joe came down and picked up a set of wheels for his crew, so it was good to see Joe and the family again. Then we painted the front room Saturday night.Today, I enlisted the help of my brother in law to retrieve a dining room set for our recently renovated dinidng room. We had family over to try it out. We are having Thanksgiving at our house this year, so now everyone will have a place to sit.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
I finally finished installing my '91 model 4L60 (fancy slang for a 700r4) and took the ol' Blazer for a drive. It runs down the interstate so smooth and quiet now, without the engine running such high RPM's. I installed the Corvette Servo and swapped the reluctor wheel speedo pickup for the correct drive gear and now the speedo is right too.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Did another wood run with the C-30 Saturday morning. Only truck problem was the passenger side exhaust donut loosened up on the way but not a big deal, just made for a noisier trip home. (secured and double nutted now).
Delivered the load to a friend and came home with the flu! Not much else. Got the Edelbrock carb Friday, picked up some jack stands at Harbor Freight on sale and waiting on parts ordered/not received to be delivered for a minor engine clean-up and rehab on the truck. Maybe come Thanksgiving week-end will have time for that. Mainly just trying to get over this darn flu bug. Really enjoy your pics and thread on your motor clean-up, White Elephant. Less the manifolds maybe I can hope to get close to as nice as what your doing with that motor. Looks good! Mark

Pick-up 305 core of CL - '86 single piece rear main seal, but with mechanical fuel pump boss machined! This engine will be going into carbed car and the fact that it is 1 piece RMS is good - no more rear main leaks! Heads will need attention - need to find another 416 head.
Walked the local JY - picked windshield washer canister and a CCC style distributor. Truck is running like a champ. Weather in the 70's. //RF

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
I put some skateboard deck grip tape in the door sills of the R30 this weekend. My little dude (5yo) has wiped out bigtime getting into the truck a couple of times after he walks across the wet grass and then hits the bare metal sills. Works good and a nice tip of the hat to Rad Culture in the truck.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Sat I tilled about half the garden till the rain hit and put a stop to that. Shoved the tiller underneath the fiberglass top I had taken off the 87 Crew cab, it kept the rain out of the tiller engine.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
the SeaBees from the camp next to us brought a HMMWV over for me to put a flywheel in, this thing has'nt been serviced since nov-07 (they dont have a mechanic) so I spent the weekend rebiuld'n the steer'n , changed all the fluid's, fix some odds and ends on it. they came by today to check on it and was really greatfull to see all I was able to do with it. (I have a ton of parts and Seals wont drive HMMWV's out here so I hook'd the SeaBee's up)
Also order'd my 22" TowNasty wheel's for the Dually.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Saturday we started the cab swap on dads C-60. We stripped out the old cab and had it off the truck, and the new cab stripped out and unbolted by dark.
Sunday we pulled the new cab off the donor truck. We swapped the wiring into the new cab and retro-fitted the air brakes. The new cab got bolted down and doors put on. This morning before work we got all the air lines hooked up and no leaks. All is left is wiring the cab to the frame's harness and finish putting the fiberglass nose on. We're a tad ambitious.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Saturday I went to College Station to look at apartments with my daughter. It's amazing what they get for rent in a college town.
Sunday I went to buy some truck parts from a guy that bailed out of his project. The "really clean" SWB bed turned out to be a bondo bucket so I passed on it. I did pick up a few items for fun.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
I got absolutely nothing done truck wise. I decided that after the way the last few weeks had gone, I was taking one off. So my hunting friends devised a way to get me with my busted ankle out to my blind so I could sit and wait on Bambi to come by. Lo and behold, on Saturday morning around 7:30am, this nice looking Indiana 11 pointer walked by and that was that. After that, I just enjoyed hanging out and waiting on a shot at some does.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Had 3 days so I gave my barn some attention. Got the limestone leveled and packed, raised pad all the way around with edging buried in (if I ever do cement I already have the outline...). Put up a third section of pallet rack, this one is the 5000#/shelf, gonna put all my cast iron on that one LOL!
Oh, did I mention the 5.3 with a rod knock I picked up for $100? Have a sick idea for the heads on a 250.... Or maybe I'll rebuild it and race it.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
Slacking badly. Last weekend had to replace the rear end in my truck dang cross pin was so tweaked in I couldent get it out of my carrier so after hours of beating and heating I gave up and just got a junk yard axle. This weekend I replaced the wiper washer motor with a universal. Happy to say works much better then the stock popper well worth the 20 investment to have a clean window in the winter. Other then that just tightened up all the hoses and belts normal winter stuff.

Re: what did you get done 11/14/2010 edition
finally some pics of the front end job we did this weekend on the 84...
I wished I would have spent more time cleaning everything and then painting to make a much better job but trying to get all the ball joints done, upper control arm and tie rods, idler and such done and back together before it got cold or rainy. So ended up with not much time but it's done, just have to take and have the alignment checked on it all.
