Re: Lets see pics of wood beds.......
I must admit! Even with all the different wood/ stain combo's
that I've seen. This is one of my favorite ones. Spike

Re: Lets see pics of wood beds.......
A question for you guys who painted yours: what kind of paint or stain did you use? My '67 still has the original factory paint on it (the original owner put a steel plate over it early in its life) and I'd like to touch it up or put another coat on.

Re: Lets see pics of wood beds.......
I actually used the same paint that I painted the truck with. I did it mostly for practical reasons - the paint will hold up longer than hte varnished/natural finishes do.

Re: Lets see pics of wood beds.......
I think starting in 68 the factory painted them body color. In 67, I think, they still painted them black. I am not sure it was even a true paint. It was like some sticky oiyl stuff that protected the wood. Maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in......Jason

I know they make a kit like that so I'm not sure why it couldn't be done on the cheap(er)

Re: Lets see pics of wood beds.......
This may not be up to "the standard", but when my wife had hardwood floors put in last month, I had the guy order a couple of extra boxes of the stuff.
I have a steel floor that has a couple of "imperfections". The bedsides and t-gate are nice, but covered with a spray in bedliner. So, I'll paint 'em if I can get the paint to stick. Then, I'm going to get a sheet of 1/4 inch plywood, put the floating membrane down, snap the floor hardwood together. I'll get some ss strips, counter-sink some holes for screws and place them lengthwise to simulate the stockers. Just one more little project. If it turns out, good. If not, it's cheap. And fun.
