That won't last long driving around town with a welded rear. Just a heads up.

Re: new ride! 85 c10

Dittos on the won't last long, when you turn sharp, something's gotta give..axles, gears, tires or something must give way. On the HiPo engine, I'd ditch the long valve cover hold-downs, they vibrate loose and will cause leakage. Still, you seem to have yard-sale and swapped yourself to an inexpensive hot rod. The 12:1 comp ratio is probably mitigated by a high overlap cam so you can run it on street gas. With that loud yellow color, the cops in your burough will know exactly who you are, good luck.

Re: new ride! 85 c10

My 85 C10 had a bad trani, it cost us 100 to have it rebuilt but the guy screwed it up a little. Its running now but I wish we had gone with the rebuilt ones on craigslist with garantees.... you can get 'em around here for $350 with a 6 month or 1,000 mile garantee

While I was shopping around I think I found some for about 1200 that would handle 350-400 hp

Re: new ride! 85 c10

I wish I could find the website I was looking at a few months ago, but while I was searching for it I realized I probably got the price wrong, sorry. I think the basic rebuilt ones with good parts was 1200 and the upgraded ones were around 2000. Sorry for the mistake...

Re: new ride! 85 c10

heres some pictures from the removal of the old motor. turns out the crank in the old motor was bent, some guy offered me 200 bucks and off it went. we pulled the motor out at my buddies house since his garaged is heated and mine is not and towed it back to my house with my buddies rollback. enjoy!

motor is out!

i got excited
