Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
It doesn't have a bottle, It has flux core wire...
Also, what gauge is the sheet metal on the floor pan? I need to "make" a inner rocker.

Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
what happened with mine was not mistaken short/long bed, I used to have a 68 lwb and was thinking of it when I posted this. I did a little work today after I got back from the in-laws. sanded, and mixed up a tiny amount of real hot filler, and used it to hit one tiny low spot and to glaze some air bubble spots and such, only had about 45 seconds of working time. took about 15 minutes to cure. sanded that down and primed it up nice, gonna wet sand with 600 and reprime to get rid of sanding scratches. next weekend. before the work this panel didn't line up with the door and looked pregnant/bulgy lol.

Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
nah i work 48 miles from home so I leave sun up and get home after sundown. I would have done SOMETHIN this morning, but cold rain sucks for doing body work. I did take my christmas bonus to harbor freight and get a grinder (been borrowing my boss's). I also bought a box of chip brushes, nitrile gloves, grinding disks, cutoff wheels, and flapper wheels and knotted wire wheels. and a set of center drills which will remove spot welds real nice. maybe some progress later tomorrow. I talked to the father in law and he has a DADO blade and the skills to do the oak for my bed and is willing to do it! I will probably buy him some beer and help him drink it for helping

Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
I did half a fender yesterday.... man i had bondo boogers and bondo nightmares last night. I stripped half the fender with a wire wheel, there was a crap ton of bondo on it. I used my trusty wood block and ball peen hammer to take out dings, dongs, and dents, then skimmed it with fresh (not super thick, cracked, 20 year old) bondo, and sanded like a ninja, I gotta do the other side, but it turned out really nice. I am getting good at this, not to brag but this is my first "successful" bondo/body work.
Oh wait, here they are. when I get home, I will wet sand it baby smooth to see if I missed any spots.

Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
yeah, I also found a MINT grille with good hoops and decent bezels, zero rust, sat for 15 years. for $100 His driver door was bent. He also has an uncut dash that I may trim out with a hacksaw and graft into mine. Still debating if I am gonna install my 10" monitor there for megatunix guages decisions decisions.

Re: 67 Chevy LWB Stepper RestoMod
well, I did nothing this weekend. I worked inside the house doing a bunch of flooring and such. I did however make it out to the local scrapper and nab the grill off the 68 that I have been wanting and also make a $400 order to LMC. My wife "paid" me $500 (in guilt free dollars) to do all the flooring and junk she wanted done so I spent it all on my truck. Stuff should be here tomorrow! I had quite the shopping list. Does anyone know where to get the body mount kit cheaper than LMC? 150 for bolts and bushings.... ouch.
He also had 1-69 and 2-71-72's, one of which is a custom/20. The orange 68 is a c/20 custom camper! tail gate is pretty good and not orig to the truck but he wants a left nut for it.
