Re: just joined

We pulled the front axle yesterday and tore it down. MAN THIS THING GOT HOT. The fluid had the consistancy of cottage cheese and smelled real bad. It needs all the bearings and roller bearings replaced. BUT after adding up what it would cost to rebearing it, its not worth it. SO we counted the teeth and its got 3:42 gears. The same as my wrecked tahoe. So we are just going to pull the front out of my wrecked tahoe and stick in his truck. Should be simple. Here are some pics along the way.

Talking Re: Project 94 Z71 ECSB

we took the front end out of the wrecked tahoe last weekend and everything under the tahoe was CAKED in about 2-3 inches of mud! it was bad! my uncle has to fix a seal on it and hopefully it will be in soon! and then after the front end we have to put in ball joints, go through the transmission, and rearend, clean the interior and then get it ready for a paint job!!! YYEEEAAA!!!

Re: Project 94 Z71 ECSB

He put most of the interior back in himself without help and did a good job! HOPEFULLY HE WILL CHIME IN AND POST PICS. We pressure washed the seats, carpet. It turned out good. We installed a nice pioneer head unit as well.

Re: Project 94 Z71 ECSB

Some more random pics of working on the interior and after we redid the front end and cranked the torsion bars up. AND More from when it was getting painted. Ended up finding a better door in the junk pile at my buddys work. Keep in mind the body work isnt perfect but the cab was really trashed! He loves it and I think it turned out GREAT for a first truck. He has been driving the hell out of at as we gave it back to him right before christmas.

Re: Project 94 Z71 ECSB

I like that trim and your truck is nice. I always wanted to put the gmc side mouldings on my 04 chevy z71. I removed mine and never got around to getting the gmc stuff.. That being said, I'm not sure I like the newer gmc trim on the 88-98 trucks. Something looks off. Cant put my finger on it.,
