Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

I am gonna be 30 this year, I bought my first truck when I was 14 years old with money that I had earned working on farms and mowing grass during the summers. I will always own one or more of these trucks. I currently own 2 SWB 67's, and 1 LWB 68 50th Anniversary Edition. Thinking I want to get a suburban as well and guess what it will be a 67-72 as well, LOL...You young guys, remember this...Everyone in your family (negating gearhead families) will tell you that it is a money pit and try to talk you out of what you are doing, keep striving forward and doing the work, in the end you will have the best truck around and you will honestly be able to say I built it myself. Trust these guys on this forum, as they have guided me through a frame off build of Project Heaven, which should be complete in 2011!!!!!

22 here and I just bought my 71 C10 3 months back and have been waiting for one for as long as I can remember. There's just something about working on something almost twice your age that really keeps me motivated. I love the truck and it will go with me all the way to the grave!

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

27 here. I've always loved muscle cars, my first car was a 67 Firebird and I have been hooked since. My dad gave me this 72 SWB back in April. He bought from the original owner a couple years ago and then parked it. It has some serious rust issues but nothing a welder and some cut off wheels cant fix

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

im 26 and have had my 69 since i was 17,.

it was given to me by the orignal owners mother, after he had shot/killed himself in it (had to replace the back window and clean blood/brains off gas tank)..
she had a 350 3OTT that was run out so i built a little 327 and had the coolest truck in school i also had my nova.. then one night i was showing off to my future ex-wife(no pun) and a rod decided to jump thru the block..
so i put a 250 l6 and a 350auto in to replace it for the mean time.. now it sits with a 454 from a 1990ss pickup, and a th400..
i couldent be happier even tho i throw money at it all the time. and i hope to for a long time to come.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

I'm 28... I don't know if that's still young or not. The '70 I have is my second 67-72. My first was an extremely rusted out 69 with alum mags that got me hooked on these trucks. Bought it for $200 and drove it for a while, then tore it apart and sold the pieces for $200. Lol!

Dude call me a pu**y but I wouldn't even be able to sit in that truck after having to personally clean it! but hell a free truck is a free truck

I'm 29 and my first car was a pick up truck. A 70 Longhorn that I worked on a farm for a whole summer to buy. It was a sickness before I was big enough to mow the lawn.

I've always loved these old trucks my dads had tons of them over the years. I got my first one when I was 17 and started restoring it. Now I'm 20.
