Re: Intro and pics of my build

Travlinman- that is a good question. I mocked up everything with the seats I am using and the non-tilt column seemed to fit me well. What is the advantage of the tilt? Is it worth while to swap?
BTW- I posted the engine and trans combo on craigslist for 1250. It sold in 45 minutes! I guess I should have priced it a little higher

BossHogg- Yep 335's on the rear. Detroit speed mini tub kit which allows such wide rubber. I have a shafiroff BBC 705hp/ 695tq and I can use all the traction I can get!

Here are a couple more pics

"CHP" C10........I assume Cal Highway Patrol???......if so, and I happen upon any unfortunate traffic infractions in the Napa area.....can you help a fellow board member out???

Beautiful Cobra and Camaro......looks like the truck is on its way to being just as nice!

Re: Intro and pics of my build

Yeah, I recognized those steamrollers 'cuz that's what I have on the back of my '69 C10 - BFG 335/30/18's. Love the Big Block in the Camaro!

Re: Intro and pics of my build

Hey SactoJim-
Let me guess, cameras at an intersection? I just say that because Napa residents are having a lot of trouble with the newly installed cameras...me too for that matter- the pic quality is AMAZING! no denying it was me!

I was a CHP officer down in west Los Angeles (culver city)- hurt on the job and had to retire (at 32yrs old). I am partners in a General Enineering Contracting co. now.
I will help you out if I can, what'cha got?

Re: Intro and pics of my build

Very nice collection! I saw the 69 on the lateral-g forum and it looks sweet. I just picked up a 69 and going to do a Speedtech/Wilwood/Rushforth combo! The paint & body on all your rides looks excellent, who does the work?

Sorry to hear you got hurt......hope new career is working out. I was just kidding and appreciate you asking...though I did go almost 15 years without any tickets and then all of a sudden.....BAM, 2 within 6 months......product of obvious hardcore enforcement. Those Redlight camera's are brutal in this area....$480! I go through a handful of them daily on my way to and from work and at night you can see the flashes go off and all I can think is cha-ching, cha-ching!

....anyway.....looks like you got a nice build going on and I will follow it because I just bought a 68 that I want to do a late model swap on and make it a great driver.

Re: Intro and pics of my build

Thanks again everyone for the kind words.
Raguemoe - actually a different person for the paint and body work on all three.
Cobra- Ken Pike (Streetrodpainter.com) in Yuba City. One of the best on the west coast for glass body work and paint.
Camaro - Was a bit more of a high dollar build. Shipped the car to Prodigycustoms in FL. they did all the work (sub frame, mini tubs, brakes, suspension, etc ) plus paint.
68 C-10- My neighbor Mo (pro auto bumper repair) repaired bumpers etc. His quality of work was far better than his work environment should allow. He rented a proper shop with proper paint booth and he took on this project. He did more than we discussed, it turned out better than I had hoped so I paid him more than the price he was asking. (still VERY reasonable)

Sacto Jim- Ha I did the same thing. No tickets for a long time, then rolled through a red on a very wide ride turn/merge typical of a yield type situation, then a picture with a $470ish ticket arrived...Damn.

Thanks c10seconds.
I was trying to find some pics of your truck, it looks real nice from what I can tell.

I should have the engine installed with some more pics in a week or so. Will post as soon as I can
