Re: manual vs. power front disc brakes

I upgraded to front discs on my `63 a couple of years ago. I decided on a non-power MC. I bought one for a `78 half ton Chevy at the local parts store and got a prop valve at the junkyard. Works fine and was a major improvement over the stock brakes.
As Lakeroadster pointed out, power brakes don't stop better, just make easier leg effort. Ever notice how much leg effort it takes with power brakes when the engine stalls? I live in hilly country so no braking worries about stalled engine when I'm rolling down hill...just the power steering. That, I had to have.
