Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

Maxxd07,

I will keep that in mind if i do roadtrip it. My brother is in grand forks and sometimes we make it out to the Minot area. I enjoyed the thread where you got your 4x4 and your father in laws truck. Funny thing- i was doing a google search for 67 4x4 and a truck almost exactly the same as mine showed up on an appraisal site from an auction co. It was a ND truck and also was a 305 custom with front mounted PTO winch! The price was only available to members though so I don't know how much it went for.

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

My mom has some relatives that live all over the cities, talking about a small world. St. Paul, Minneapolis, Oak Grove, Andover, Plymouth, Elk River, and Coon Rapids. She is from northern MN and is from a big family. Its been a while since we have been down your way other than the old man and me picked up a semi in Rogers in August. I myself like road trips but like you said if you can ship it cheaper thats the way to go. I know of a cab that needs floors, rockers and corners if you are looking for a cab along the way.

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

Here are some more pics.

I wanted a project, looks like i'm getting one I wonder if i'll have to replace the cab. I think the rust on the inside is surface rust. The vent window has been out so moisture has been getting inside the cab for years. All looks pretty original, hopefully the seat is also. I'd like to find build sheet in the seat since there was never a SPID in this truck or some other 67's as far as we can tell.

Does anyone know if the pto shifter looks correct? Shifters and levers galore in this truck! Is the gray interior color rare?

Thats a lotta sticks! LOL! Don't know about the color. I'd be concerned about anything that can trap mold tho, mainly the smell, like the seat cushin

I'd like to restore the truck the way it was so I'll be keeping that in place.

Here are a couple more pics.

Are the mirrors unusual? Can't remember seeing any just like this

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

I've got a bid for 1200 so I think I'm going to line that up.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to safely pay and keep truck secure until it is picked up? I'm thinking I could have him mail me the title, then I send the last $200 or something? I have no reason to trust him and no reason to distrust him.

Vintage Windmills on your purchase. Looks like a super sweet truck to fix up. What I also noticed is the way so many offered help with ideas. That's what makes this forum so special.

Hmm thats tempting, but I'll still have less total in this truck than that, even with shipping from OR. Also I'm liking some of the unusual things about this 67

Great find ! The weather has been bad in the North West this year, lot of snow and bad floods around Portland Mt Hood area. Wa and MT also, you might factor this into your road trip plans. I will be in Portland next week if I can help in any way, again nice truck and good luck......

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

See if he'll take a deposit on it, like you say $200. Then once you have a shipper for sure send him rest of the money next day USPS, like $17 for that, then he'll send you the title after he has all his money. Then you pay the shipper when he delivers do not pay shipper before he gets it to you and check it out real good before you pay him to make sure shipper didn't damage it. This is the way I've done it 3 times now. Good luck, Randy

Randy, wouldn't it be better to get the title before he gets all the money? I'm just thinking if he has the truck, title, and all the money, what is left to keep him honest?

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

Unfortunately the buyer is the one who has to trust the seller, a seller would not want to give the title up and it not being paid for, I wouldn't and most guys are like me. You have to trust the seller. You don't get titles for cars and trucks from dealers till its paid for, so this is the samething

^Yeah, thats what I thought, figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

Its kinda neat this one has PS/PB in a '67. I suppose its desireable but its just more to restore and maintain!
