Re: Tachometer , any cool ideas?

Out of absolute curiousity has anyone tried to install one dead center in the space between the speedometer and fuel gauge in that triangle space above the two gauges?

Pondering what a hole saw could do. Would a small tach even fit in that space if recessed into the gauge bezel or even attached under the dash pad in that space?

Wondering if something like this would work: http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto+Meter/105/2698/10002/-1

Just pondering the options here.

Re: Tachometer , any cool ideas?

Bad picture, but I did a small autometer tach on my column, easy spot to mount, nothing special.

Re: Tachometer , any cool ideas?

Since it's been too cold to work in the shop to do any real work I still have this spare bezel in the house. Thought I'd look for something close to the smallest size tach Jegs offers, 2"1/16". Found this "round" which is exactly 2".

My idea to recess a gauge in this space won't work it appears. Not enough room, but I had to see it for myself.

I agree with the storage tray space is a good idea to ponder as well since I have no a/c in the 1-ton.

Oh well, now I answered my own question and will probably just keep looking for a decent deal on a nice oem tach. Until then, I'll just drive with my ears open.

twisted the wires, and ran it down the bottom of the column and under the bezel, You can still see the wires but Im fine with it only about 3/4 of an inch.
