Updates.....thinking of putting this tv i have laying around in. I whipped up a mount right quick for it and it doesn't look to bad.....and my dash turned out GREAT. Enjoy.

Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
Bumper is close to being mounted and the wiring is finished in front.Does anybody know if i can use the 79' bumper mounts on the newer 80's bumper. My frame is 79 and bumper holes don't line up.

You can get the newer mounts and cut off the older mounts which are made on the frame. Or are you talking about the reinforcement angle pieces? The hood looks KILLER!! very nice work on the truck man! My opinion on the tribal or demon graphics is "less is more" understated subtlety will look better, and not distract for the truck.... maybe some ghost graphics? and it would kinda tie in with your theme.

Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
All the bracing haha i've red a few things talking about the horns...do i have to completly cut off the horns and weld in new? Is there any way to mount it with a diff brace? the bottom holes will line up but nothing else. And as far as the side braces im lost. Do i need to make new ones? Thanks

Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
The 73-80 frame horns are formed with the holes to mount the bumper built in.
The 81-up frame horns are shorter and basically cut off. They use a bolt on bracket to mount the bumper. You need to find the 81-up brackets and side braces. Then you will see how much to cut off of the front of the frame. Drill new holes for the brackets and side braces and you are golden Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
When i got it i was told 9" springs in the front and there are 5" blocks in the back. Never measured so not 100% sure. But the poly mounts lift it a little too. Like 1/2 inch or so.

Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
Got most every thing outside cab wired up, looks good the way my buddy did the wiring. I was able to hide everything very well computer sits behind the dash. you can only see like 3 wires. I still need to wire up the truck power and some other things under hood but should be done this weekend with that. Brakes are mostly done, ordered my rear rubber line...when that's in it's done. gotta pop the water pump back off and get the new pully pressed in too. Anyway off to bed ....enjoy! Re: My turn...83 shortbed 4x4 56k lots of pics
Very nice! Your hood looks sweet! On your bumper brackets for the outer ones, too bad you can't take the older ones and cut them in half. Then take the newer ones and cut them to where they meet where you cut the old ones and weld them together if you know what I mean.
