Moser makes axels that fit in place of the stock 6 bolt. use 71 72 drums

He said with 3.5" no issues. He had issues when he went to 4.5".

Thanks. That's what I've heard about 8" rims with 2.5" drop spindles...shizzle! I have a set of steelies all powder coated and a frame with drop spindles. Looks like I'm in for some "clearancing". I've never heard of anyone needing to ditch the inner fenders on a 4/6 static drop.

Re: 15x8 rally wheels up front with drop spindles?

Not sure if I really apply to the question but... I have 3" drop coils and 2.5" drop spindles for a 5.5" drop with 15x7 Ralleys on 225/75r15 tires and have absolutely no rub anywhere. Still running stock upper and lower arms.

In this pic, my '67 has Van rallys on the front with 237/70 with no issues. It has drop spindles and one coil cut of the front springs.

Re: 15x8 rally wheels up front with drop spindles?

Ole Greenie---Nice TRUCK!

I've been looking at tires all day for my truck to go with the new drop and I would like a 275/50 but there non existant(only DR's). The 255/60 was an alternative choice I had discovered earlier. I'm running 255/70's right now with a 3/5 drop and soon to be 5/7, so new tires are in store.

My other choice was a 235/70 but that's just 1" shorter than I have now, I like the 255/60 because it's a full 2" shorter than my current tire and I think would look killer on a 15x8 wheel, and 5/7 drop.

Any more pics?

Appreciate the kind words for my truck. I'm kind of partial...as we all are. I think a 255/60 would be a good choice, especially for the rear but with a 5" front drop you might want to consider going with a taller rim, say 17X8 or 18X8. The more drops I see, especially those 5" or more, the tall tires for a 15" rim just doesn't look right...but that is just my taste.

I have posted a bunch of pics in the past but I will defer to posting more until I get it out of the paint shop. I really miss my mistress! (though my wife appreciates all the "new attention" I am paying to her these days

Re: 15x8 rally wheels up front with drop spindles?

I think that different brands of drop spindles bring different issues to the table. It would be nice if the issues around a given brand could be identified so folks would know. In my case, I can compare DJM and BellTech spindles, but only on the 88-98's.

For my '69, I went with ECE drop spindles and stock-height springs up front, with 4-inch dropped springs out back. My front wheels are 15x8's with a 4-inch back space. The ONLY issue I have had with it, was when turning sharply and encountering some sort of change in the street, like those we have where I live. I can only recall one time, even at that, that there was any contact between the tire and the top of the wheel opening. I was careful after that and no more problems.

The 88-98's? Another forum.
