I just want to see big full sided trucks used as they were intended, not those pesky little frame trucks with their oversized wheels in the fenders, and c notches that make the frame ride the road.. again.. tragic. J.

No one can say that Long boxes aren't looked down upon in the customizing truck community.. you can't deny that. Even here in this forum I read consistently from responders..comments that include..Cut that frame, notch it, bag it, and put a stepside on it. Longbed owners are left to feel outside this inner circle. Even when I was looking for a truck, sellers were commenting things like.. "It's a short bed.. the desirable one" and "Sorry it's not a step..it's a longbed" Now I know no one's made to feel outside here, and I think this is the best forum of these trucks for information and sharing, quite the accomplishment, and I applaud the site founders and administrators. But my original point, with tongue in cheek, was that the most vocal of the forum take funny jabs at longbed owners, and my response was to send out a call to hear from owners who shy away from the customizing of the short beds. To see the trucks that work for a living, get dirty and dented, and won't end up on the cover of Truck Custom monthly. So again I say with all the dignity of a dirty truck, that won't be cottled.. BROTHERS AND SISTERS, LET'S SEE THOSE BIG WORKING BRUTES J.

maybe i'm missing something, but what did the long bed chevy ever do to all these guys that are chopping their trucks up to make a short bed, and all the other guys that are against long beds?

And one more point..
If you won't throw 500 pounds of loose gravel in the bed to mix into cement for a foundation... It's not a TRUCK ... J.

OK,Ok, so your telling me they're other trucks out there besides 67 small window swb. lol. I tend to like the stock look with a v8 dual exhaust but, these 67-72 no matter how always get my attention.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
I have a LWB C10 and there is no way I would throw in loose gravel into my bed ...and I would say my truck is a retired truck.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
Not lifted, not a 4wd, and not a long wheel base either. Why am I even on here with this girlie car? I think I will go look for an El Camino site.

I agree that everyone should take a step back and take a breather. Too bad something in jest can get so touchy..

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
In reallity its to each his own, there shouldnt be any bashing of any trucks from this erra on this site. Some people like short, some people like long. Whats cool about these trucks is they look good as long as they mostly keep there originall figure or shape(so to speak). I have a lwb c20 that i love and would take a long bed over a short any day because of what i use mine for not because its not a "real truck" just because i like the extra room and need it. Im not into the lowering with the big rims and all the electronics and customization people put into these trucks but i think its cool to see and give respect for the time and money they put into them to make it there own.
Heres some of my c20 the day i was briging her home.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
To me I don't care if swb owners talk down cause I have a lwb. Whatever entertains them I guess. I love my 67 with a passion. I don't know if I will ever use it to its full capacity. Ima still keep on wrenchin at it. Its not to show off but to those who appreciate a good ol american pickup.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
Oh can I add something esle? okay i will. I see that alot of people dislike longbed stepsides. They have really grown on me especially one from 67-72. I would love to have one of them to just something about them is so cool. Different and that link about the stepside longbeds being "only if you want to win an ugly truck award" haaaa. I would be proud of that award. Never had an award.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..
I appreciate all the different truck configurations I see here on the board. I admire the craftsmanship that goes into the nice restorations and custom fab work many perform on their trucks too. I respect those that use their trucks as daily drivers and I envy the ones who can keep 'em in service as work vehicles. I understand the sentimentality many owners have with their trucks and the determination of those that bring back to life what many would see as rusted-out junk. I love these trucks, yet I understand that they are still just trucks that were built to get us from point A to point B, sometimes in style, and sometimes with a heavy load. The one thing I can't stand is when people do things just out of pure stupidity or bad taste. If you weld half of a '57 Chevy car on a '69 C/10 just to be "different" or glue McDonalds toys all over it, then I might think you aren't exactly a mental giant. Besides that pet peeve, I like them all, from C-10s to C-70s!
