Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
ive just now put my motor in today, ive been doing this on a non existent budget. my wicked awesome wife did buy all my engine internals for Christmas. no job (got laid off from my job of 5 years due to economic bs) just doing all the work myself with my dad helping on some things. wife fell broke a rib in the shower 2k on doc bills, no insurance. not wanting people to feel bad, but this truck is keeping my mind busy, it is my only getaway right now, if your truck is getting you down you need to just step back and look at why your building it, for the enjoyment. check out my build thread it started out as a quick motor swap and turned to a lot more.

Thank you sir. It's comments like these that keep us all motivated. There are a lot of great project trucks on here. There are a lot of great looking trucks as well. Great place to find help and ideas from fellow square body lovers. Once again, thanks for your comment, it means alot.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Take your pick. I've got four, and house in the middle of a remodel.
#1 - 4 years and counting. Awaiting a transplant of the 8.1l and 4l80e sitting in dad's shop. #2 - 2 years and counting. The daily driver that is/has continually driven me crazy. #3 - 7 months and counting. A truck that I got my wife for Christmas, for driving in the winter. #3 - This is the project part of it. #4 - I'm almost ashamed to say, but 10 years and counting. The pride and joy. It took me a long time to get this and all the parts to make it go fast. But, life keeps getting in the way of finishing it. A buddy of mine calls me cash poor and project rich. So, I feel your pain. Take some time off from it, breath, and try to reconnect with the reason you started it, and Good Luck! |

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
I'm going pretty deep on this one.
I figure I'm a year away from driving it, working on it about 20-30 hours a week (my usual pace). Ten years ago I'd have it done in 3 months. Getting old sucks.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Ten years ago you would have built it and traded or sold it in 3 months. Despite your slower pace you still build them faster than most. I enjoy your style of builds, so keep us in the loop.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Just bought last week. Project in progress. 1977 c10, short bed, 2wd, Bonanza. New motor, frt. lowered, grill, wheels and tires, headers and flowmasters.
Needs: Fix frame at steering box, install factory tach cluster, lower rear 2", figure out how to reinstall a/c and cruise with edlebrock intake and headman headers, turn exhaust out either in frt. of rear wheels or right behind, pick a color of paint, interior.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
You guys are definitly makin me feel a little better and maybe isnt as bad as I am thinkin here, but I think if the weather would be a little more agreeable, $$$$ would cooperate as well and I would be able to find the stupid not hard to find crap I still am lookin for (TH350, chrome front bumper etc)I would start to feel more positive on it as a whole, but like I said you guys have definitly helped me here and I appreciate it a lot
Thanks again Gregg

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
heres what ive come up with after about 6 months, i wish i had before pics but all that i started with was a cab, no frame, bed, axles, nothing. but as i went along this stuff became available and it came together. the next thing that it is gonna get is a 24 valve cummins and an nv 4500 swap, and mabey 2 or three more inches of lift and 38s.

Re: Pics of your Project trucks?????
Looks is all it was. The entire floor was rotten in the bed and needed replacing. That first pic was shortly after I dropped $1200 on a macco/style paint job. It was at a small quicky paint place that is now out of business.....
